❗️Attention parents of Year 11❗️

Thank you to everyone who came out to see us today for our SEND drop in session. We hope you managed to speak to who you needed to, and found the sessions useful. Don't worry if you couldn't make today there will be another chance next half term when we hold our second session.

DLD affects 2 children in every class of 30. This years’ DLD Day theme is “DLD Around the World”, highlighting that DLD affects people around the world regardless of age, gender, language spoken or ethnicity. Speaking more than one language does not cause DLD. In fact, people with DLD can learn multiple languages. DLD is a neurodevelopmental condition affecting how the brain processes language, so it makes sense that we find it in every country and every language.
Despite 7.6% of the population having DLD, it is often referred to “as the most common disability that you’ve never heard of”. We CAN change this, by raising awareness across our school communities. We know that the right support can really help pupils who have DLD.
