Now Education are recruiting for 7x full-time Learning Support Assistants to support a Specialist school based in a Kings Norton, Birmingham.

Our Client is a mixed day/residential special school meeting the needs of 131 pupils from Year 5 to Year 11 who have been assessed as having social, emotional and mental health difficulties.

Many of the pupils have medical diagnoses including ADHD, ASC, PTSD, PDA, ODD and Attachment Disorder. They have also experienced significant disruption to their education due to multiple school moves, fixed term and permanent exclusions and long periods of part-time or no placement in a school.

This is a school where you can make a real and lasting difference to the young people in their care with class sizes being no larger than 7 pupils. The school are highly ambitious to provide their pupils with the best education and preparation for a happy and successful life in the adult world.

Learning Support Assistants in this role will:

Be assigned to a 1:1 pupil in either KS2, KS3 or KS4.
Help pupils to overcome behavioural, social or emotional difficulties barriers
Manage Associated Challenging Behaviours
Work alongside the Class Teacher and other Support Staff in the classroom
Act as a positive role model for all students
Take part in whole school activities
This role is being offered on a full-time, long-term basis starting September 2021.
