Windsor Academy Trust is incredibly proud to be part of the newly formed Key Stage 3 Alliance in partnership with The Mercian Trust. To help drive this exciting work forward, it was a huge privilege to host the West Midlands Regional Steering Group last week.

Co-chaired by our CEO, Dawn Haywood, the gathering focused on making Years 7 to 9 the best they can possibly be. We are working collaboratively across the region to ensure these crucial early secondary years keep young people engaged and thriving.

Our Shared Regional Priorities Include:

Improving student attendance to keep learners consistently motivated.

Narrowing disadvantage gaps to provide equal opportunities for everyone.

Strengthening foundational skills to build long-term academic success.

We look forward to the wider regional launch this October. By sharing effective practices and celebrating collective achievements, we are taking another important step toward our ultimate goal: to unlock the academic and personal potential of every child.

The Section 10 consultation event due to take place on Tuesday 14th July for our proposed new free school, Windsor Apollo Academy, has moved to a virtual format.

The event will now take place online at 5.00pm and will provide local residents with the opportunity to hear more about the proposed educational vision for the school, ask questions and share their feedback.

As a local gathering is planned for the same time, this decision has been taken to ensure that everyone who wishes to take part feels able to do so, and that the consultation can proceed in an accessible way to allow all perspectives to be shared.

Last week, 100 inspiring students from across Windsor Academy Trust came together for a powerful day of training to become official Anti-Bullying Ambassadors.

Working in partnership with The Diana Award, our students spent the day building the skills and confidence they need to step up as leaders. Throughout the event, they:

Learned practical strategies to spot and safely challenge bullying behaviour.

Shared creative ideas to promote kindness and inclusivity within their school communities.

Collaborated with peers from different schools to build a supportive, trust-wide network.

At Windsor Academy Trust, we are committed to unlocking the academic and personal potential of every child. By giving our students the tools to lead, we help them develop strong character and create safe, welcoming spaces where everyone can thrive.

Our new ambassadors are already planning their first school projects to earn their special Social Action Badges. We are incredibly proud of their dedication to making a positive difference.
