Preschool were playing a game yesterday where they were hiking up a mountain. They got their own backpacks on and used long tubes as hiking sticks. The children were talking between themselves about the mountains and they also mentioned a volcano. To enhance their learning the teachers helped the children create their very own volcano and show how the volcano ruptures and how the lava comes out! They loved seeing this and were so excited to repeat the process. Well done preschool! Your very own science experiment!! 💗💗💗💗💗💗

Yesterday we had a visit from 2 lovely police officers at Bubbles Bexley! They came and spoke to the children about safety and who to call in an emergency, the car's they drive, police dogs and what the police do day to day. The children also got the explore some of the police equipment such as the hat, baton and handcuffs. What an amazing experience the children had, they listened so well and really enjoyed seeing the police officers at nursery!
For Fathers Day this year we invited our dad's to participate in our Bubbles Sports spectacular! We had an obstacle course, bat and ball station, basketball hoops, book area, hop scotch and naughts and crosses table. The children had a great time showing their dads around all the games and the dads had a great time too!
Today at Bubbles we had an around the world themed lunch and dessert! The country we explored food from today was Sri Lanka. We had Kukal Mas Curry which consisted of chicken, coconut milk and many spices and herbs such as cumin, cardamom, garam Masala and many more! The vegetarian option was the same but used quorn instead of chicken.
For dessert we had watalappon, a coconut custard with the consistency of creme caramel. Thanks to our Chef Emily who prepared all of this wonderful food for the children! 💚💙💗💗💙💚
Bubbles farm trip - part 2
Bubbles at the farm!
Yesterday we took the children to The Woodlands Farm Trust and we had such an amazing day! We went on bus journeys, milked a cow (not a real one!), saw lots of farm animals, saw sheep having medicine and had a picnic! We had a great adventure and learnt all about the animals and were talking about their names, the colours, what they eat and even what they might be saying when they make their animal noises!
The children really enjoyed the trip and were exhausted by the end of it! We had quite a few sleepers on the bus back home ☺💚💚💚💙💙💙💗💗💗☺
We love messy activities!!! Both green and blue room really enjoyed painting on bubble wrap and printing their patterns on to paper. A simple and effective way to explore colours and textures and to introduce patterns and sequence in to play. This activity includes several areas of learning in the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum such as expressive arts and design, physical development, mathematics and personal, social and emotional development. 💚💚💚💙💙💙💚💚💚💙💙💙

At Bubbles we have had lots of fun celebrating the Kings coronation! We have been talking about Kings and Queens and doing lots of activities around this. The younger children focused on the patriotic colours of red, white and blue and used role play/dressing up to explore Kings and Queens. The preschool children have also been focusing on red, white and blue as well as listening to stories about the King and have spoken about his palace and what might happen at the ceremony. All the children enjoyed a 'big tea' on Tuesday where we had finger sandwiches and scones with jam! The children loved this little party and made crowns for the event!
'The tiger who came to tea' tea party was such fun! The children really enjoyed role play with this activity, making each other tea and coffee, custard, cereals, cakes and biscuits. This activity explored personal, social and emotional development, literacy, communication and language development, fine motor skills and understanding of the world. We hope the tiger comes back for tea at Bubbles again soon! 💙 ☕🍵🐯💙
'Tiddler the story telling fish' playdough activity! 💙💙💙 exploring textures, creative thinking, expressive arts and design, communication and language and fine motor skills. These are just some of the ways the children are learning through play and having an amazing time with lots of fun! 🐋🐠🐬🐙 💙💙💙
Over the past few weeks some of our pink room children have been enjoying jumping beans with Kevin. Here are some photos and videos of their sessions focusing on communication and language development and personal, social and emotional development. The children are really enjoying jumping beans and always look forward to Kevin's arrival! 💗💗💗
In honour of Saint George's day this coming Sunday, blue and green room have been busy exploring red and white textures with playdough, feathers, foam materials, wooden sticks and tissue paper. The children are developing their creative skills within this activity and learning the importance of turn taking incorporating the British values in to this activity. 💚💙💚💙💚💙💚💙💚💙💚💙💚💙💚
On the 4th April we had our inset training date with the staff.
We do this to support the staff’s knowledge and understanding in-the ever-changing childcare sector.
This really helps to enhance staff members professional development.
We focused on ‘in the moment’ planning, safeguarding scenarios, Schemas and supporting our children with additional needs.
We also invited some guest. The lovely ladies from Purple Parenting, Sarah and Michelle led a two hour session all around Speech,Language & Communication.
This will help us to further support the children in our setting.
This training has really helped all the staff to develop a more in-depth understanding of language development, the impact of delayed speech, issues around communication and to be able to further consider these aspects from a child’s perspective.
We also focused on language development for the children who use English as an additional language and the role of the setting in promoting speech and language development for Bilingual and Multilingual children.
A Big Thank you to, Purple Parenting.
All the team commented on how successful the training day was and that it was beneficial for their professional development.

Easter at Bubbles has been so much fun! The children have enjoyed many different activities and here are a few pictures from the past couple of weeks! Rice krispie cake making was a favourite, using gross motor skills to mix and talking about all the ingredients incorporated communication and language development! 💚💙💙💚
Blue/green room have been busy this morning with these two wonderful activities! Retrieving letters from the water with tweezers is supporting the childrens phyiscal development by using fine motor skills and promoting communication and language and literacy skills with recognition of letters and colours in the water. 🌊💪🌈💚💙 The children also enjoyed an activity where they could explore different textures and colours with an Easter twist focusing on sensory based play and promoting creativity with the different resources added! 🐣🐣🐣💚💚💚💚💚💙💙💙💙💙
This week blue room have explored lots of different activities but these two were some of their favourites! A muddy construction area where the toddlers used their imagination to create different structures in the mud alongside digging using gross motor skills and exploring communication and language when speaking with their friends about some of the different textures they've found. Blue room also enjoyed a pouring and filling activity with flowers exploring maths through measuring and pouring and also communication and language where the children discussed the flowers in the water as well as the flowers they could see out of the window beside the water tray. What a fantastic week blue room have had!! 💙🌻🌼🚜🌼🌻💙
Babies have had a fabulous week exploring where sheep, cows and pigs like to play on the farm. The babies enjoyed the sensory experience of playing with water and mud as well as exploring communication and language by naming animals and repeating the sounds they make 💚🐄🐐🐖🐑💚

This morning and tuesday morning we hosted a very special Mothers Day Breakfast for all our very special and appreciated mothers and grandmothers. We shared fruit, cereals, croissants and fruit juices. 🍌🍉🍶 The children showed off their skills serving their own breakfast and enjoyed showing their room and friends to their families. At Bubbles we love to include parents in everything we do and especially on occasions like these. This was a great social event for the children and for parents and we hope all our parents enjoyed sharing breakfast with their children 💚💙💖💚💙💖
We sat down with our preschool children to discuss and put together our golden rules for the room.
These are the ones we thought would be best for the pink room , we are going to go through these each day and put them into practice with the children.
We added the children's own drawings of their favourite book or story to our display board we were talking about why that's their favourite book and talking about the character's.
We promote the love of books and how they can be used in the environment not just in the book corner.💖💖💖💖💖🔰🔰🔰🔰🔰🔰🔰
Look at our lovely Mother's Day drawing that our preschool children from pink room have drawn what amazing artists !!!!!! Developing their drawing and writing skills for their next steps in learning.

The children in blue Room have been looking at and exploring the sea animals today.
We were singing baby shark with the children, we developed this by adding the sea animals to the shiny textured materials, with different coloured glitter to look like under the sea.
The intent was to explore textures ,single words and simple sentences.
Develop their understanding of the world , what animals live under the sea. 💙💙💙💙💙💙🐳🐋🐟🐳🐋🐟🐠🐠🐠🐠🌎🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊
Here at Bexley Bubbles the children have the opportunity to take part in Tiny Tekkers muti- sport activities on Thursday morning this develops the children's physical development and the ability to explore and interact with the world around them.
They use disguised learning technologies based around fun games to ensure the children leave with a smile on thier face.
The activity improves their over all well being and they are learning to keep healthy .
Green room have been really interested in water activities this week so we thought we could recreate water in a different way. We first started with blue paint and cooked spaghetti to see if we could create a wave picture on paper. The children were not too keen on the texture of the painted spaghetti so we let them choose which resource they would like to paint with and they chose a paintbrush. Green room love arts and crafts and made a beautiful group painting while we spoke about water and what we might find in water 💚💚💚💚💚
Blue room are really enjoying cutting their own fruit at snack times. By doing this the children are developing their fine motor skills and enhancing their physical development. This is also promoting independence and positive wellbeing. Well done blue room! 💙💙💙💙💙💙
In green room this morning we have enjoyed playing with the animals. We incorporated sensory play with this using water and coloured cous cous with chickpeas. We have had so much fun exploring these different textures! 💚💚💚💚

Green room have been super busy this morning! Our favourite activity is our stacking trees so of course we started with those! Putting the objects on and off, using our fine motor skills. We also love the car's so decided to add the sensory experience of water and bubbles to create a car wash! This was so much fun and we loved splashing about with our friends. After a little snack we became wonderful artists creating a beautiful pictures using different materials and glitter to stick and used paint too, allowing us to use our creativity and explore textures. Lastly we got out our duplo blocks out and explored our physical development to create big towers and we worked together to achieve this! Now we are just getting ready for lunch but what a fun morning we have had in baby room ☺☺☺💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚
Mealtimes at the nursery are devloping the children's physical development strengthening their fine and gross motor skills, through self serving with ,water jugs and large serving spoons.
Also it builds on their soical skills ,communication and Language and understanding of the world.💚💚💚💚💙💙💙💙💙💙💖💖💖🍲🍲🍝🍝🍝🍝
In the entrance we have made an emotions wall, so we can talk about our feelings with the children, especially if they are feelings sad or emotional to support their well-being.
We also added the colour monsters, and in the room the staff have been sharing the colour monster book by Anna Llenas and the interactive stones the children have loved this .
Look what fun we had with the dinosaurs we added shaving foam and green colouring to the activity.
We were looking at textures , colours and the noises that dinosaurs make "stomp stomp" the children have shown an interest in the small world animals .🐊🐊🐊🐊🐊🐊🐊🐊🐊💚💚💚💚💙💙💙💙💙💙💙
This is our new display board in Preschool talking about how books are not just for the book corner. We can use books in all the areas of provision to support the children's learning.
Books are a wonderful resource so we promote the love of books with the children.💗💗💗💗💗💗💗🔰🔰🔰🔰🔰🔰🔰🔰
We took some pictures of the snow in the garden, and we had a visitor in the night or early morning we saw fox"s footprints in the snow.
To develop this Preschool room are going to be looking at different animals and what footprints they make.
The intent of this is to develop the children's understanding of the world, to develop their vocabulary, and to learn matching the animals to the footprints.
Maybe you could go on a footprint hunt walk at the weekend to support their home learning and take some photos for us to share at the nursery.💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗
