We’re so excited to be nominated for these national industry awards! 🌟
✨ Nominee Spotlight: James Aconley and the team at PQA York, Scarborough, Beverley & Hull ✨
Every week, more than **530 children and young people** walk through the doors of PQA York, Scarborough, Beverley and Hull to develop far more than performing arts skills.
Under the leadership of James and his team, these academies provide a supportive environment where young people can build confidence, resilience, communication skills and a genuine sense of belonging.
The impact of their work can be seen in the personal transformations that happen every day. Students who once struggled with anxiety have found the confidence to step into the spotlight, young people have formed lifelong friendships, and many have achieved things they never thought possible.
Through weekly academy sessions, community performances and festival workshops, PQA is creating opportunities for children and young people to grow both on and off the stage, developing skills that will benefit them throughout their lives.
At its heart, PQA is about empowering young people to believe in themselves, discover their potential and find their place within a supportive community.
👏 Thank you, James and the PQA team, for the incredible impact you're making across York, Scarborough, Beverley and Hull.

Wondering how performing arts can set your child up for an easier, more confident step into adulthood? 🤔
At PQA, learning doesn’t feel like learning. While they’re dancing, acting, singing, filming, and laughing with friends, they’re also building lifelong skills, that equip them for life.
Our approach is anything but ordinary. It’s active, fun, and totally immersive, so young adults don’t even realise they’re gaining the kind of skills that shine on a CV and make transitions into secondary school, university, or even work so much easier. 🙌
