πŸŒŸπŸ—³οΈ Meet Our New School Council! πŸ—³οΈπŸŒŸ

We are delighted to announce our newly elected School Council representatives! Congratulations to all of the pupils who were successful in this year's election and a huge well done to everyone who put themselves forward as candidates.

The election process gave pupils the opportunity to share their ideas, demonstrate leadership skills and take an active role in school life. We were so impressed by the confidence, enthusiasm and thoughtful suggestions presented by all candidates.

We look forward to working with our School Council throughout the year as they help to represent the voices of their classmates, share new ideas and make a positive contribution to our school community.

Congratulations to our newly elected School Council members. We know you will do a fantastic job! πŸŽ‰β

🐷🏠 Who's Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf? 🏠🐷

After listening to the story of The Three Little Pigs, our children became house builders and scientists as they experimented with straw, sticks and bricks to discover which materials make the strongest houses.

The children quickly found that the straw blew everywhere, the stick houses tumbled down, but the brick houses stood firm and strong! They had great fun re-enacting the story, designing and building their own houses before putting them to the test.

A highlight of the activity was when Mrs Hunter transformed into the Big Bad Wolf and tried her very best to blow down all the houses! Lots of laughter filled the classroom as the children huffed, puffed and retold this much-loved fairy tale through hands-on play and investigation.

What a fantastic way to bring a story to life while exploring materials, building and problem-solving! πŸΊπŸ’¨πŸ βœ¨

πŸ—³οΈπŸŒŸ School Council Elections 2026 πŸŒŸπŸ—³οΈ

Last week, our pupils took part in the School Council elections. Candidates confidently shared why they would make excellent representatives, while their classmates listened carefully, considered their choices and cast their votes thoughtfully.

We are incredibly proud of all the children who put themselves forward for election. It takes real courage, confidence and commitment to stand in front of your peers and share your ideas for making our school an even better place for everyone.

Well done to all of our candidates and voters for participating so respectfully, responsibly and enthusiastically. Now the excitement builds as we wait for the results, which will be announced on Friday! πŸŽ‰

πŸ”ΊπŸ”· P5/6 Shape Detectives at Work! πŸ”·πŸ”Ί

Our P5/6 pupils have been busy exploring the wonderful world of shapes! Using lollipop sticks and playdough, they became shape detectives and constructors, creating a variety of 2D and 3D shapes while investigating their properties, including sides, vertices, edges and faces.

The children then put their thinking skills to the test by sorting shapes into Carroll Diagrams. They carefully identified similarities and differences, explained their reasoning and justified their decisions using mathematical vocabulary.

A fantastic lesson full of creativity, problem-solving and mathematical thinking. Well done, P5/6! πŸŒŸπŸ“πŸ“
