Book Recommendation of the Week

Only one recommendation this week which is a third appearance in the assembly for Libby. In May, Libby passed a quiz on ‘The Reappearance of Rachel Price’ by Holly Jackson. In this story, Bel’s mum disappeared a few years ago and everyone thought she had died. Bel and her family sign up to do a documentary about her mum but then…Mum shows up. However, things are not as straightforward as they first seem. Mum’s story has cracks in it, leading Bel on a journey to investigate her family history.
Libby says, ‘There are lots of twists. It started a bit slow but got really exciting. I LOVE this author so I had high expectations and this book met them. There are a few swears in it.’ Thanks for such a brilliant recommendation, Libby.

Some of our students had a lovely visit from ZooLab this week. They were incredibly brave and asked some really inquisitive questions! Thanks to Elizabeth from ZooLab for bringing some wonderful animals, reptiles and insects to our school.

What a fantastic trip some of our students and staff had last week! First, a night in London where they ate at the Hard Rock Cafe, had a theatre trip to see Hercules, then a whistle stop tour of London followed by a trip to see HMS Victory in Portsmouth. They then travelled to Normandy, where they visited Bayeaux cathedral, Normandy cemetery and beaches. They have spent a fabulous few days enjoying the Chateau they stayed in with swimming, sports, karaoke and a silent disco among many other things! We hope everybody had a great time!
