What a gorgeous (and emotional! πŸ₯²) afternoon we've had celebrating with our wonderful Cosy Cubs families πŸ©·β˜€οΈ!!

A huge thank you to all of our families for all of your support. We're going to miss our leavers so much but know they are so ready for their next adventures! 🌟

A big thank you to Berwick Cricket Club for letting us use their space again 🩷

And to Bouncing Off The Walls Party Hire for supplying us with the main event!

We hope everyone has the best Summer with their families and we're looking forward to hearing all about it when we're back in September πŸ₯°β˜€οΈ

Can you believe it's the last week next week?!

We're not emotionally prepared! Someone please explain where this year has gone because we're sure it was Christmas about five minutes ago! 🀯

We've got one more week before the Summer of making memories, sharing cuddles, having adventures and probably trying very hard not to cry every five minutes as we think about those who will be leaving us this year πŸ₯²

Here's a little glimpse in to another lovely week at Cosy Cubs 🩷

πŸ¦‹ This week we said hello and goodbye to our beautiful butterflies. We've loved watching them grow stronger each day before finally letting them free to begin their next adventure.

We've also been busy making delicious dairy free berry ice creams πŸ“πŸ¦ and making the most of the gorgeous summer sunshine. We've also loved spotting what we'd like to think are our butterflies fluttering around while out on our adventures πŸ₯ΉπŸ©·β˜€οΈ

Who'd ever have thought we'd be grateful for the Northern weather?! 🀣🌦

Thankfully, the recent heatwave hasn't been too unbearable for us up here! We've been keeping cool with plenty of water play, lots of laughter and splashing! πŸ’¦πŸ₯°πŸŒž

We've been busy bees this week making some special Father's Day artwork 🎨

And we thoroughly enjoyed spending Wednesday afternoon cheering on some of our Cosy Cubs siblings at their Sports Day πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ…

We've also been keeping a careful eye on our Caterpillars πŸ› They've grown so much this week! Yesterday we spotted them hanging upside down and was lucky enough to witness them turning in to chrysalises 🀩 The children have loved observing the changes each day and we're excited to see their next transformation! πŸ¦‹

During our minibeast hunts this week, we have spotted bees, cobwebs, butterflies and even a ladybird 🐞

We really slowed down and took our time to carefully observe the insects around us and think about the different places they like to hide. The children enjoyed looking under leaves and rocks and searching for tiny holes in trees where minibeasts might make their homes.
Using sticks, leaves and pinecones collected on our walk, we worked together to create a "bug house".

At home, we had some sensory worm play, enjoyed watching our Caterpillars growing, matched minibeasts to their habitats, created caterpillar patterns with playdoh and made some colourful butterfly suncatchers πŸ¦‹

We were also very excited to discover that the pigeon we regularly say hello to on our walks has welcomed some babies! πŸ₯°

We've had a fantastic first week back welcoming our new Caterpillar friends to Cosy Cubs! πŸ›πŸ‘‹πŸ»

The rainy weather has been perfect for minibeast hunting and we've discovered lots of wriggly worms and slimy snails along the way! 🐌πŸͺ±

We've enjoyed painting our own caterpillar pictures, creating caterpillars and snails from playdoh and finishing the week with some yummy healthy ladybird biscuits πŸžπŸ˜‹

I wonder what other minibeasts we'll find on our adventures next week! πŸ”πŸͺ²

For our final week of our β€œAll Around the World 🌍" topic, we explored different types of homes and buildings from around the world 🏠

We started the week by looking closely at the houses and buildings around us, discussing what our own homes are made from and noticing all the different shapes, sizes and materials.

We then travelled to Antarctica and had lots of fun trying to build our very own igloos ❄️

After that, we warmed back up by heading to some of the hottest countries in the world β˜€οΈ We explored pyramids and got very hands on creating houses using mud, sticks, grass and sand!

To finish the week, the children used cardboard boxes and a range of loose parts to design and build their own houses big enough to sit inside 🏑

It’s been such a lovely week full of exploration, curiosity, creativity, problem solving and imaginative thinking 🀎
