“Shoulders, Arms, and Hands” 💪 will be the next “focus awareness” subject for my January 2025 Block of classes starting on Monday January 13th.
We will incorporate arm exercises in our routine which help to maintain our strength. There are many reasons why including:
Good balance: Strong shoulders, arms and hands helps you stand and walk steadily and well on your feet.
Injury prevention: Strong shoulders, arms and hands help prevent injuries and protect your joints
Tasks for every day: Strong shoulders, arms and hands help you do everyday tasks like carrying shopping, lifting children, and opening doors.
Better posture: Strong shoulders hands, and arms help improve your posture.
Less risk of falls: Strong shoulders arms and hands help reduce the likelihood of falls and fractures.
Good health: Strong shoulders arms and hands are associated with better health. Grip strength is a reliable predictor of muscle strength, bone mineral density, and nutritional status.
Athletic performance: Strong shoulders arms and hands help improve athletic performance.
Control Weight: Muscle tissue burns more than twice as many calories as fat tissue, even when the body is at rest.
Muscle mass and arm strength start to decline around age 35, and you can lose up to 3% of your muscle mass each year after age 60. Incorporating arm exercises into your fitness routine can help maintain your strength.
