It was great to see the tarpaulins out for den-building at lunchtime, along with the swingball and the very popular new sandpit!

Children from all year groups were playing together collaboratively and joyfully!

Huge thank you to our volunteer parents who helped us out on Friday afternoon. Great work from Mr Rosa Valerio, Mr Mullen and Mr James all ably managed by Mrs Marshall, who has the big picture of how we are trying to improve our outdoor spaces.

We now have an outdoor doll's house, a sand pit (covered to protect it from the deposits of local wildlife!), 3 sheds for our outdoor construction equipment and several posts for tarpaulins so that the children can play den building!

It's great to be back at Beoley for the Autumn term. The sunflowers are out and reminding us of the glorious Summer we had and the children are enjoying our outside areas: playing, scooting on the playground and making potions...

We were slightly worried at Beoley First School today when headteacher Mr Philp was replaced for the day by Professor Severus Snape. The children were all joyfully dressed up in a fantastic range of costumes from a really wide range of books, yet here was Professor Snape ruining the vibe with his serious face and desire to turn all activities into 'Potions lessons'. We really hope he won't be back tomorrow...

There was lots of creativity on show during World Book Day as many children created a 'book in a jar' summing up a favourite story they have read with images and objects placed artistically inside jars that are now on display in the School Hall. Well done to all who contributed.

Year 3 and 4 had a great time at Attwell Farm Park earlier this week. The learning about the rainforests was particularly inspiring with the children handling a range of insects and arachnids that come from warmer countries. It was great to learn from 'Bug expert' Paul who has visited rainforests all over the world and has a particular academic interest in arachnids - there is even a spider named after him!

Thanks to our friends at Attwell for a great day!

We've been very impressed with the outfits for today's NSPCC. Clocks, robots and plenty of T-shirts with the numbers '6' and '7' on them... we're not sure why... 🧐

Today was day 1 of our new caterers and today children at Beoley have been introduced to the sophistication of a salad bar!

There was a great selection of food on offer - the children ate well and we heard the word 'delicious' repeated several times! Thank you abm catering

It's the weekend and time to think about promoting some events that are happening at Beoley Village Hall...

Coming up very soon it's the Village Cinema Night on Friday 16th January (see the attached poster).

The Village Hall Events team are bringing regular live music events to the Hall and already have arranged a Taylor Swift Tribute act on 7th February (which has already as good as sold out!). They are also organising a Shania Twain tribute evening on 27th June. In addition to these events, the Hall has been booked by several bands/acts - Rea Unloaded (A Chris Rea Tribute) on 14th March and Crawdaddy (a Birmingham based band who play hits from the 60's & 70's) on 28th March.
