Woodside School was opened on Woodside Road, Crayford in 1970. It was a special School for children with learning difficulties and from its inception the School came under the London Borough of Bexley. In 1997 the School moved to a site on Halt Robin Road, Belvedere. The current School site was formerly owned by Picardy Girls School and the site founded in 1915.

This school closed on the 31.03.2019. It having been acquired from Bexley London borough into the London South East Academy’s Trust. It closed its site at halt robin road and only continued to use the colyer lane annex site. As part of this acquisition rebranded to become a new administrative entity of Woodside Academy.
