Learning Support Assistants đź’™

We spent the day at Shimna Integrated College in their beautiful new school, delivering a workshop to their wonderful Learning Support Assistants.

Together we explored how reframing the way we understand behaviour can help us better support children and young people — through understanding communication, sensory, emotional, and underlying support needs.

It was a brilliant session with great engagement and feedback throughout. Thank you to the team for having us!

We’re looking forward to future collaboration 🤝

Many schools are using behaviour strategies that should work…but don’t.
Why? Because behaviour support only works when you understand the function behind the behaviour first.

If staff are responding without identifying what a child is communicating, even the “right” strategy can fail.

In our training, we teach school staff how to:
✔ Identify the function of behaviour✔ Understand what dysregulation is communicating✔ Respond in ways that reduce escalation✔ Build practical strategies that actually work in real classrooms

Perfect for SENCOs, school leaders, and support teams looking to improve behaviour support across their setting.

We have training coming up in May!

For SENCos and school leaders struggling with rising dysregulation across school. Train your staff to confidently respond to dysregulation and reduce escalation in the classroom.

When a child struggles with behaviour, the question shouldn’t be“Why are they disrupting the class?”It should be:“What are they trying to communicate?”

Behaviour is communication — and when we understand the needs behind it, we can create environments where every child can thrive.

Join our live online workshop to learn practical, evidence-informed strategies for understanding behaviour, supporting regulation, and building calmer, more connected learning environments.

Still seeing behaviour that keeps escalating in your setting?

Sometimes it’s not just about how we respond in the moment — it’s about stepping back and looking at the bigger picture.
• Are sensory needs being met?
• Does the child have the right communication support?
• What is their emotional state?

When we understand what’s happening underneath, we can respond more effectively.

We explore practical, realistic ways to support this in our online workshops this May.
