✨ If Your Child Is Stuck On A Question - Encourage Them To Move On ✨

If your child gets stuck on a question during a test, encourage them to put a circle around the number on the question paper and move on. A lot of people worry the child will go out of kilter on the answer sheet but the way the answer sheet is structured (into sections) they should be able to control this and reduce the risk.

The reason why this tactic works is because while they’re answering the rest of the paper, their subconscious brain is still quietly working on that tricky one. Psychologists call this the incubation period (or effect) and it describes when you step away from a tricky problem, your subconscious mind keeps quietly working on it in the background. Then, when you return, the solution often feels clearer or even “pops” into your head. 🧠✨

Here are the benefits of this approach:
💥 Circling + moving on = less stress
💥 Provides better pace through the whole test
💥 Stops the child panicking if they really can't figure it then having to rush
💥 They can sometimes get that “lightbulb moment” when they return to the question. 💡
💥 It means they can get the paper finished when otherwise they may have lingered too long and lost a chunk of valuable marks waiting for them at the end of the paper

These tips will keep progress flowing, keep the child calm, and let their brain do its magic work in the background. 🤓

As this is the first exam your child will sit, it’s crucial to provide them with the tools they need to succeed. With most schools beginning full SEAG papers after Easter, this camp offers the perfect opportunity to build their skills and readiness in a supportive, engaging environment.
