Celebrate with all of Burrishoole Parish the seventh Newport Parish Street Party, Sunday, 23rd August, from 1pm - 5pm. It promises to be another fun day for all. There will be a BBQ, food stalls, games, music, fun, craic, a great sense of community, and much more on Castlebar Street and the Viaduct! All families, neighbours, clubs, groups, businesses, and entertainers are being encouraged to take part, to make this day as memorable as possible… an all-out street bash for the whole town! Bring a picnic, invite friends and family, and immerse yourself in the fun. Explore local talent, history, and activities while coming together, and let's make this year's Street Party unforgettable!

Aonach na nDéise Viking Heritage Festival is a free family day of fun filled activities such as Kiddie Vike (under 10), a pastimes and games area, living history village with traditional crafts, Viking battles and plenty more to do and see.
