Well done to swimmers Calvin, Year 8, and James, Year 9, who recently travelled to Germany to compete in the prestigious ‘Stuttgart International Swimfest’.

Calvin came away from the competition with an impressive one silver and three bronze medals, while James set a new personal best in the 200m front crawl.

This morning Mrs Buchanan held a Year 9 end-of-year Assembly in Lecture Dance, to round off the year. Pupils were recognised for placing within the Top 10 of the Year Group in the Summer Exams and being amongst the Top 10 movers from winter to summer, while the Charity Ambassadors from each form class were invited to display their classes’ totals.

Well done to everybody on their successes and endeavours throughout the year!

Many thanks to Darren Nixon, from 'eye4education', who delivered a pair of worthwhile workshops to Years 9 and 11 in the William Moles Hall yesterday. Darren’s sessions, which focused on developing skills such as communication, teamwork and logical thinking, proved most engaging and were extremely well received by all participants.

Congratulations to the School’s male track and field athletes whose performances at the recent Irish Schools’ Championships saw us awarded a shield in recognition of being the Second-Best Overall School at this year’s event.

In total, Grosvenor was represented by 15 athletes at this year’s Championships, walking away with two silver and two bronze medals, along with a plethora of further impressive placings.

Given the highly elite nature of the competition, this is a truly phenomenal achievement – a very well done to all involved!

Barcelona Trip 2026

Yesterday the group visited the beautiful nearby town of Tarragona, one of the earliest Roman settlements in Spain. It is famous for its impressive Roman remains, including the amphitheatre, circus, city walls and aqueduct. It has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2000 and is also famous for its castells, the famous human towers. After a quick lunch and photo challenge, they headed to the beach, for a brilliant afternoon swimming in the sea. ☀️ 🌊

Sports Day 2026

At the third time of asking, Sports Day took place last week on a day which felt more like October! It was fresh and windy but everyone did their very best with the results expected to be shared soon with the Form Classes. The Ice Cream van did a roaring trade and everyone enjoyed their day! Well done to all the competitors and to the pupils on the grass bank who provided loud support throughout! 🙌

SU Weekend 2026

The Scripture Union Weekend took place over the weekend on the North Coast. The guest speaker was past pupil Michael Ferguson who spoke on the topic of darkness into light. It looks like everyone had a fantastic time in the sunshine!☀️
