Week 30/52 🎓

We’re back! After a short break from the roundup over the last two weeks, the HIP Psychology team has been hard at work behind the scenes. We’ve been upgrading our administrative systems and giving every workshop a thorough refresh, making sure each one is as current, relevant and impactful as it can be for the young people we work with.

And that’s not all. We’ve got some exciting announcements on the horizon, including a new collaboration and a brand new way to book HIP ‘N’ Healthy, with discounts available. Watch this space!

Week 27/52 🎉

And that’s a wrap on the 2025/26 school year.

This week the HIP Psychology team got together for a well earned team lunch to celebrate what has been an incredible year. Looking around the table, it is hard not to feel proud of everything this team has achieved.

The numbers speak for themselves.

In total, HIP Psychology delivered over 1,250 sessions this year, supporting more than 63,000 young people across the island of Ireland.

834 sessions delivered in primary schools across Northern Ireland, reaching approximately 25,000 pupils.

372 sessions delivered in post-primary schools across Northern Ireland, reaching approximately 37,200 pupils.

48 sessions delivered across the Republic of Ireland, reaching over 1,440 pupils.

None of this would be possible without the incredible schools, teachers and partners who trust us to show up for their young people week in, week out. Thank you.

We will be back in August, bigger and better than ever. Watch this space. 🙏

Week 26/52 🌞

As schools across Northern Ireland head towards summer break, things are naturally a little quieter for the HIP Psychology team, but that doesn’t mean we have been resting.

Big things are brewing behind the scenes. HIP is collaborating with one of Ireland’s leading sportswear brands, and this week we held a photoshoot to bring that partnership to life. A huge thank you to St Mary’s, Magherafelt for hosting us. More details coming in August, so watch this space.

We are also thrilled to share that we have taken our very first booking for our Transition Year workshop in the Republic of Ireland, with Manor House School, Raheny. An exciting step as we continue to grow into the ROI market.

We have also confirmed that HIP will be speaking at the Queen’s University Belfast Pathway Programme, delivering a session on Presentation Skills. We cannot wait to share more closer to the time.

We also got the team together this week for a meeting, as HIP is levelling up and getting ready for everything next term has in store.

A quieter week on the school visit front, but an exciting one for what’s ahead. 🙏

Week 25/52 🤝

This week has been all about collaboration for the HIP Psychology team.

We were absolutely delighted that our RAISE Transitions Project in Lisburn was visited by Education Minister Paul Givan, who came along to see our Get to Know Each Other Day in action with P7 and secondary school pupils. RAISE is a Department of Education NI Executive funded programme supporting young people across the region, and it was a huge honour to showcase the impact this project is having.

We also launched something brand new this week, delivering our very first Attendance workshop in collaboration with St Joseph’s College, Belfast, ahead of a full launch in September. The session went down brilliantly with the teachers who attended, and we cannot wait to roll this out further.

Week 24/52 🎓

First and foremost, our thoughts are with everyone across Belfast and Northern Ireland following what has been an incredibly difficult and unsettling week for many communities. We hope everyone is safe and well.

This week, another set of P7 pupils across Northern Ireland supported by the HIP Psychology team as they prepare for one of the biggest moments of their young lives.

Transitions has been front and centre this week, with a huge number of schools joining us online. It has been brilliant to see so many young people engaging with the sessions and feeling more confident about the move to post-primary school.

A special mention to all of our RAISE Lisburn schools this week, whose continued commitment to supporting their pupils through this transition is fantastic to see.

Week 23/52 🌟

Another action packed week for the HIP Psychology team as we head into June.

It has been a week of reaching young people at every stage of their journey, from our youngest learners in P2 and P3 at Holy Child Primary School, Belfast, who were taking part in an independent research study on HIP in partnership with Queen’s University Belfast Psychology, right through to P7 pupils taking their next big step. We also held a Sixth Class Transitions session, continuing to grow HIP’s reach beyond Northern Ireland.

A special highlight this week came when Cormac was invited to attend St Peter’s Got Talent in Divis, West Belfast. A brilliant showcase of young talent and community spirit, and a reminder of the incredible schools and communities HIP gets to work alongside.

Over the past year, HIP Psychology has been proud to partner with East Belfast Alternatives through the DARE Project, supporting pupils across Ashfield Boys’ High School, Ashfield Girls’ High School, Dundonald High School and Breda Academy.

Together, we have worked to raise aspirations, build confidence and support young people to reach their potential.

A huge thank you to everyone involved. We look forward to building on this partnership during the 2026/27 academic year.

If we want to effectively support others, we first need to look after ourselves.

A key message from a recent staff wellbeing conference at the Royal Belfast Academical Institution.

In education, so much time is spent supporting pupils, colleagues and families. Yet it is often our own wellbeing that gets pushed to the bottom of the list.

Looking after ourselves isn’t selfish. It helps us show up with more energy, patience and purpose for the people who rely on us every day.

A simple message, but one that is easy to forget.
