POV: You’re a KTP Associate presenting your work at a major manufacturing expo 🤩

KTP Associates aren’t just graduates working on a project, they are also leading conversations, sharing expertise and connecting with industry leaders from across the sector.

Yesterday, Suriya took to the stage at the Manufacturing and Supply Chain Conference and Exhibition to share insights from his KTP project, exploring how digital transformation and data-driven decision making can help manufacturers unlock new opportunities.

Fantastic keynote from Suriya 👏

How do you turn complex project work into something clear, engaging and easy to understand?  💡

This was the starting point for a recent storytelling workshop at Queen’s University Belfast that brought together KTP Associates and researchers from the RiSC+ Network.

Led by Belfast-based actor Chris Grant, the session created space for participants to think differently about how they communicate, and to try approaches they wouldn’t normally use.

The full-day session was packed with improvisation and interaction-based activities - from vocal warm-ups and stop–go drills to status-based role play and quickfire reframing activities - that highlighted how stories are told not just through what we say, but through how we use our voice, our body, and our presence.

For KTP Associates and PDRAs, working at the intersection of academia and industry requires the ability to translate complex ideas into clear, confident communication across a range of audiences.

Workshops like this create space to practise those skills, build confidence, and experiment in ways that aren’t always possible in day-to-day project

A very special moment for KTP at Queen's University Belfast! ✨

Following an unforgettable evening at Innovate UK's 'Golden' KTP Awards, Queen's proudly took home two of three national titles 🏆. This extraordinary achievement highlights the power of collaboration and innovation at Queen’s, and the leadership that continues to drive meaningful impact beyond the University.

'The Art of Successful Collaboration' award recognised Queen’s for our long-standing commitment to partnership and innovation. This award is especially significant for our team and Head of Business Support Programmes, Lorraine Marks, whose nearly 30 years of dedication to the team has shaped countless success stories.

The 'Knowledge with Impact' award honoured the decades-long partnership between Queen's and Navico Group, whose collaboration through KTP continues to push boundaries in marine technology and sustainability 👏 Congratulations to the company, academics and associates involved.

Congratulations also to our partners, Macrete Ireland Ltd who were runners-up in the ‘Driving Innovation for the Future’ category. Under Abhey Gupta's leadership, Macrete has collaborated with Queen's on multiple KTPs and their success is a true example of the lasting impact of KTP on both people and business growth.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who supported us by voting and sharing our stories, your encouragement helped bring these national honours home to Queen’s ❤️
