👟❤️ Sole for Soul Shoe Donatio

There's still time to donate!

During first two weeks of September, we’re collecting old school shoes and sports shoes in repairable condition to support the Boikanyo Foundation, South Africa.

At the end of the summer term we managed to stop 65 pairs of good shoes going to landfill and these will be given to impoverished people in Africa.

🌍 Give shoes a second life and reduce landfill waste.
👣 Help provide footwear to communities in need.
💙 Raise funds for life-saving heart surgeries for children in South Africa.

What to donate:
✔️ School shoes
✔️ Sports shoes
✔️ Other wearable footwear

❌ No destroyed or unwearable shoes

🌟 Introducing… The Proud Table! 🌟

We want our students to feel proud of what they achieve, whether it’s an outstanding piece of work, a brilliant effort, a personal achievement or something they’ve worked hard to improve in their lessons.

That’s where our new Proud Table comes in! 🖤💛

Every Friday, students will have the chance to bring their work to the Proud Table in Student Reception, near the trophy cabinet, and share their achievements with members of our Senior Leadership Team.

🏆 Staff will stamp work that deserves recognition (or mark with a P)
👏 Students can bring their work to the Proud Table on Fridays
✍️ SLT will stamp or sign their Proud Card
🎟️ Collect 6 stamps and your card can be entered into a prize draw!

And there are some fantastic rewards up for grabs…
🎁 Weekly – £10 voucher
🎁 Half-termly – £50 voucher
🎁 Termly – an iPad!

Most importantly, the Proud Table is about celebrating achievement, building confidence and helping every student feel that their hard work matters.

📚 Introducing the Study Six 📚

We’re excited to introduce our new Study Six programme, designed to help students develop strong, independent study habits that they can use across all subjects. During morning form time, students will explore a range of evidence-informed study strategies, learning how each one works, when to use it and how effective it is for them.

Each strategy will be explored over a two-week cycle, giving students the opportunity to practise and build their confidence. We are focusing on flashcards for the next two weeks!

The aim is to develop long-term study skills that will support students throughout their time at Sandy Secondary School and beyond. 💛📖

It’s been a fantastic morning, with assemblies and personal development activities taking place in tutor groups as everyone settles back into the new term.
