A bus, I do not see 🤔. The sad reality of the proposed cuts to local bus services in Wootton.
Today I spoke with BBC Three Counties Radio as a domiciliary care provider to highlight the real impact the proposed bus cuts could have on older people in our communities.
For many elderly residents, local bus services are not just transport — they are a lifeline. They provide access to medical appointments, shopping, social connections, and independence. Reducing these services risks increasing isolation and making everyday life even harder for vulnerable people.
As care providers, we see first-hand how important reliable public transport is for the wellbeing, dignity, and quality of life of older adults. I’m proud to stand up and speak on behalf of those whose voices are too often overlooked.
We hope this will have had some impact as local councillors continue to fight these bus cuts and try to find a solution.
