Mini Wonders Childminding

Snow!!!❄️ Love it or hate it…. it’s been a very exciting prospect for our little ones this week!!
The arrival of the cold spell was perfectly timed to kick off this weeks theme and some fun activities and set ups. We will be evolving the topic over the coming weeks to include learning about artic animals, which countries have the best snow and what fun can be had playing with it ⛄️
No January blues at Mini Wonders 🥶 ❄️ 🥰

We have been having lots of fun in the run up to Halloween 🎃 It’s been focusing on our story’s of the week and creating exploration tuff trays to extend those stories and themes. Visiting playgroup to share with our friends and learn from one another and visiting the secret farm for their special childminder and homeschool day and making pumpkin playdough to help us explore our senses and get those fine motor skills ♥️
We still have lots more planned over the next few weeks and lots more adventures to explore before the big kids join us for half term 😍 we cant wait!

Today we dropped in to see our animal friends at Standalone Farm. It was absolutely fantastic to enjoy the sunshine while’s it’s still doing its thing ☀️
A visit to the farms gift shop had us all excited for Autumn and the spooky season. The children and I couldn’t resist these beautiful Lanaka Kade pieces 🎃 👻 They are going to be so much fun creating invitations to play with 🕸️

To all my wonderful children and their parents I want to say a massive thank you for making me feel so loved and appreciated today and always. I am so lucky to spend my days doing what I love and spending time with the most wonderful little people.

It’s been such a busy and exciting year - I have loved the new experiences and places we have discovered together. I really do learn something new every day while helping the little ones to grow in confidence and ability.

Here’s to a happy and health Christmas and New Year for everyone. I look forward to seeing you all through my door in 2025 ☺️🥳

2024 has run away with us here at Mini Wonders!! It’s been an amazing and fabulous year so far but wow has it wizzed by!
We have had so many adventures with our friends and learnt so much about ourselves and each other.
We have visited lots of new spaces and returned to some old favourites.
The children continue to grow in ability and confidence every day and I am so lucky and privileged to get to be a part of it all ♥️

After a jam packed Summer we were very excited for the start of a new term and for the arrival of Autumn.
We’ve had lots of fun exploring nature and watching how our surroundings are changing. We’ve made potions, playdough, exciting creations and yummy treats these last few weeks.
We’ve visited some of our favourite places and discovered some new fun adventures too!
Party’s to be attended, games to be played and old friends to welcome back over the half term was such a treat. Oh how I love to watch you all grow and flourish 🥰
Now it’s time to wrap up warm and gear up for an exciting term in the run up to my favourite time of year 🌲 🎁 ❄️

We celebrated national turtle/tortoise day this week and paired that with lots of fun under the sea sensory activity’s. Our little ones worked on freeing the sea creatures from there tangled nets to practice those fine motor skills and played with sand and water to work on strengthening little hand muscles while scooping and pouring as they played.

We had a very special visit from Fred the Greek tortoise 🐢 and the children were fascinated watching her munch her favourite dandelion and cucumber snacks and learning all about her life. It was fantastic for the children to be able to be so hands on with her. A big thank you to Zoe for taking time out to bring her along 🥰

Last week we celebrated family week. We talked about our family’s and shared our photo albums together.
We visited Houghton house to see where family’s used to live and how different that is to where we live today.
We created our own family trees with our hand prints at playgroup.
To finish the week off we made a very special visit to the lovely residents at Wixhams Retirement Village to show the children how important it is to look after our loved ones and cherish them.
The children made some flower bouquets as small acts of kindness to give them and we even managed a few renditions of happy birthday while we were there.
I was so proud of how gentle and well behaved they all were. They loved saying hi and we have promised to return with our music box next time to all sing some songs together ❤️

This week we blasted off to space to explore the universe 🌍 🚀🔭

We had such a fun week celebrating the king’s coronation 👑 The children really got into the spirit of the event through crafts, play and having fun with their friends ❤️

We had the most special and exciting run up to the festive season and a lovely end to 2022. After a few days of down time we are ready and raring to head into a new term.
