. I’ve recently become aware of spoofing. It’s when a caller hides their identity by pretending to be phoning from a different number than the one they are using. I thought it just applied to banks and businesses etc. where the spammer is phishing for details.
Apparently callers are now using random numbers. I know that my number has been used recently. I got a call from Ireland, the lady was very confused as to why she had missed calls from my number. I’m also aware recently of many dropped calls where my phone has not rung but my phone tells me I’ve missed calls.
It’s annoying at best.
