A little reminder that tomorrow, Friday 16th October, is Wear Red Day in support of Show Racism the Red Card! 🔴

Children are welcome to come to school wearing non uniform with red (or all red!) to show their support for standing up against racism and promoting equality.

In PE this half term, Year 1 have been working on their movement and balance skills. To warm up we played ship ahoy where the children had to complete different pirate tasks such as scrub the deck, salute the Captain and climb the riggin. The children then stole the pirate's treasure and balanced this on a friend, who then had to balance on 1 leg for 10 seconds without dropping the treasure. The children loved this game!

💛 REMINDER – NON-UNIFORM / WEAR YELLOW DAY 💛

Just a reminder that tomorrow, Friday 9th October, is our non-uniform day in support of World Mental Health Day! 🌟

Children are invited to come to school in their own clothes, and we would love to see them wearing something yellow to help raise awareness of mental health and show that every mind matters. 💛

⚽ Our Football Team’s First Games! ⚽

Yesterday, our school football team played their first games of the season! 🎉

Their first set of games consisted of drawing one and losing one, but there are plenty more games to come! 💪⚽

We’re so proud of how the team represented our school, showing great teamwork, effort and sportsmanship. 👏

🌟 Year 2 have been busy! 🌟

Year 2 have been up to lots since we came back in September, and we are so proud of all the learning they have been doing! 📚✨

🔢 Maths: Year 2 have been learning to add two-digit numbers using tens and ones. They did a fantastic job using their equipment to support their learning and were able to use the correct mathematical vocabulary when adding. ➕👏

💚 Healthy Minds: We were delighted to welcome a visitor from Healthy Minds, who talked to the children about how we can turn ‘red thoughts’ into ‘green thoughts’. The children came up with some excellent ideas and impressed our visitor with their thoughtful responses! 🧠💭💚

📖 Reading: The children love spending time reading in our Year 2 library. They particularly enjoy choosing a book of their own choice and settling down to enjoy a good read. 📚❤️

📝 Poetry Day: Year 2 enjoyed reading lots of different poems during Poetry Day. Some children even had a go at reading poems aloud to their friends — well done, Year 2! 🎤📖

🚦🚸 Road Safety Visit! 🚸🚦

Nursery had a special visit from Melissa, a Road Safety Officer from South Tyneside Council. She helped us learn about staying safe around roads through fun activities and discussions. 🚗

We learnt about road dangers and, most importantly, why we should always hold hands with a grown-up near roads. 🤝❤️
