My name is Emma and I live with my fiancé, Andy and our two children, Chloe and Adalyn. We have 3 giant African snails too to look after! My setting provided funded spaces for Early Learning and Childcare through West Lothian Council, Eligible 2s and Childminding spaces. I have many years experience in both out of school care and nursery settings at both practitioner and management level. I am based in Fauldhouse and my service is available to children in the West Lothian area. My aim is to provide a safe and welcoming environment, where your child(ren) can play, learn, develop and thrive. I am Frobel trained, and aspire to deliver a Montessori approach with a passion on developing children's learning and experiences through the natural world, loose parts and promoting independence. School drop off/collection is available.

We've been busy trying different hole punches this morning! Before children can write letters, they must develop the intrinsic hand strength, motor control and cognitive abilities required to manipulate a pencil. A simple activity but just look at the benefits!
• Building hand strength & endurance.
• Developing pencil grip to build a mature tripod pencil grasp.
• Bilateral coordination by holding paper steady with one hand and operating the punch with the other. This requires both sides of the brain AND body to work together, an essential skill for holding down a workbook while writing.
• Cognitive & visual skills for literacy through visual tracking, spatial awareness, and focus.
• Hand-eye coordination & visual perception.
• Focus and spatial mapping.
