To the dads who became fathers in joy and the dads who became fathers in grief.
To the dads who watched, helpless, as birth took a turn no one prepared them for.
To the dads grieving the baby they pictured, and learning to love the child in front of them.
To the dads grieving a partner who was injured or lost, while trying to hold a family together.
To the dads who are still here, even when their hearts are still healing.
Today, we honour all of it.
A father’s love is seen in every quiet way you showed up.
And if part of that love has been shadowed by trauma, fear, or grief you’ve never said out loud 🙏, please hear this: birth trauma and PTSD are real, and they are treatable. You don’t have to carry it alone.
Healing is possible. Support is here. Reach out to us, to a therapist, to someone you trust. Your story matters, and so does your healing.
Happy Father’s Day to every kind of father this day holds.

Sleep during labour and on the ward is possible and you deserve it! Sleep is a medicine as my babcia ( granny) would say
The environment can work against you: bright lights, noise, dry recycled air. So let’s work with your body.
My favourite hospital bag sleep essentials:
🌸 Silk pillowcase it’s a must for me as soft, temperature regulating, familiar scent from home and it’s great for my hair too🥰
👁 Eye mask, it signals to your nervous system that it’s rest time
🔇 Earplugs, protect your energy between surges
💧 Water - hydration is a key
🍯 Nourishing snacks & treats, blood sugar stability = calmer system
🧴 Rich moisturiser as ward air is as dehydrating as a plane cabin
Small comforts = big nervous system support. You’ve got this. Save it and share with your partner 👇
VBAC or Cesarean birth… what’s my choice
Supplementation with vitamins during pregnancy.
Today is International Day of the Midwife 🩺💙
The midwife who held your hand. Who stayed past her shift. Who whispered “you’re doing it” when you didn’t believe it yourself.
This year’s theme is because right now, the world is short one million midwives. With one million more, we could prevent 67% of maternal deaths, 64% of newborn deaths, and 65% of stillbirths every single year.
In the UK, our NHS midwives are stretched, underpaid, and undervalued, yet they show up every single day.
If a midwife changed your birth story, drop a 💙 below. Let’s flood the comments with gratitude today.
