Hi everyone.
Hope all is well with you all and the ones you love. Just a quick one tonight to say that I won't be posting for very much longer as I'm selling my all of my stock and leaving the furniture business behind. The economy is such that people like myself cannot, even with the best will in the world, make a living.
The page will stay active until my last piece has sold, hopefully around Christmas.
It's been a pleasure helping you with your projects.

Last post before the Priston music festival where I have a stand. Come along for the music and drop by for a chat about mid century.
I'll have a few pieces with me, including my Richard Hornby drinks cabinet, the doors of which I have reveneered. I particularly like this Richard Hornby piece but I felt the doors could better.
Here's the process in pictures.

Hi everyone.
I picked up a table on Sunday, nice quality, nice size.
It all looked great as so often they do, but...
As you can see by the video, all is not well. No problem, it's in the right hands.
I thought this would be an excellent opportunity to document exactly how I go about fixing such damage, start to finish.
I've done a few clips already, showing the techniques, the order in which I do them, and just as importantly, what I use.
We'll start with this one.
Check back all week for the following ones.

Little upholstery post today.
One of my students tackling a project that on the face of it seems simple. Begginers consistently make the mistake of skipping the basics and taking on projects that are way too advanced. The result is disappointment and disillusionment.

Sarah doesn't like being on camera so I've dubbed her footage as 'Only Hands'! I thought it was funny. Anyway she's coming back for lessons on an ongoing basis, so they'll be footage for all you aspirant upholsterers.

Hi everyone.
So here's one of my next projects.
The 'She Beast' picked up a little damaged travelling up the hill 'my stairs'.
I'm just happy it was minimal and relatively easy to fix.
I'll do a few tutorials on this one.
She'll look spectacular when she's done.

Just a fun post today, there's a little irony in that, however. As some of you may know I'm vacating my little workshop downstairs and keeping the one upstairs. The latter is a great space, more of a studio than a workshop really. Anyway, Ms Skogh (the Rosewood sideboard) is the last to join us up here.
I've been putting off moving her because she's heavy. I wouldn't say that in her presence, but I'm sure she could deflect by pointing out that she is truly beautiful and has absolutely no need or understanding of, what's the word? ... modesty.
So, I am reduced to her humble servant today, ferrying her ladyship through the jungle to her quarters as if she were some grand Victorian on a safari.
She arrived safely, I thought, I heard a 'thankyou, who knows?

Born in 1963, currently 63, I've had a whole raft of injuries and illnesses, including two slipped discs. Did this on my own.
Rather pleased with myself.
It's true about our generation, we are built different 💪.
I'll shoot a tutorial in the week for you about brushing on tone sprays.

I've just repaired a door to an mcm cabinet, you've guessed it, Rosewood.
I accidentally damaged it. Took a chunk out of it the size of my thumbnail.
Anyway it's repaired now. The method I used was the same as the one in the images below. Tone sprays can be purposed very effectively using small brushes or cotton buds. It's tricky and skilled but something you can develop over time.
I'll show you the recent repair in a day or two.
I can post the video from which these stills came from but my figures show no one much watches the videos.

Hi everyone.
I been really busy lately, so haven't been able to post much. The Priston festival is coming up on the 18th-20th September too, which I have a stand at.
I usually display current finished stock, but this year I'll have fewer items to leave room for live demonstrations. The festival is fun, free and family focused, so do come along.
Share with anyone who you think would like to visit my stand and partake all the other entertainment.
