Simi's colourful life has seen her trade a career in commercial banking for a passion project that became her calling: Simi's Kitchen, where she teaches cookery and caters across Bath, specialising in Persian food

This year, that passion culminated in her first book, Fermented Dairy of Central Asia, the perfect way to blend her natural curiosity and pride for her Turkic Iranian heritage.

Sonya didn't have the 'typical' student experience. While at Bath, she worked several part-time jobs to fund her studies and lived off campus. Despite this, she always knew what she was working towards: a role in the third sector where she would make a difference.

Now, Sonya is CEO at Action for ME, a charity incredibly close to her heart.
