The biggest tournament in our sport, and genuinely one of the highest levels I’ve ever seen at a Junior World Championships.
To step onto these tatamis against the best fighters from around the world takes something special — and BKO delivered. 🔥
🥇🥇 MATTHEW NEPTUNE — DOUBLE WORLD CHAMPION
What a performance.
Matthew absolutely dominated his sections, with multiple fights ending on 15-point clears.
It’s one thing to win tough fights. The very best take world-class opposition and make it look easy — and that’s exactly what Matthew did.
For me, he was by far the standout fighter on the tatami. Calm, clinical and completely in control.
Two WORLD TITLES. 🌍🏆🏆
A massive congratulations, Matthew. An unbelievable achievement and thoroughly deserved.
🥈🥉 DANNY STEWART — WORLD SILVER & BRONZE
Danny put absolutely everything he had onto those tatamis.
We all know he won’t be satisfied with silver and bronze — Danny came here to become World Champion.
He finished the tournament with a brilliant performance and, unfortunately, the final decisions didn’t fall his way.
But what stood out was his heart, passion and determination.
You could see how much it meant to him every second he was out there. That sort of heart can’t be taught, and it will take him a long way.
As Danny now moves on to follow his boxing career, I couldn’t be prouder of him. ❤️
🔥 MAX FARRELL
Max came into these World Championships a year younger than the fighters in his category, but you certainly wouldn’t have known it from watching him fight.
Technically, Max showed an incredible level and proved that he more than belongs on the biggest stage in our sport.
At this level, fights can come down to the smallest of margins and a few moments going one way or the other. This time, those moments didn’t fall Max’s way, but the experience he’ll take from competing against the very best in the world will be invaluable.
The result wasn’t what we came for, but there are so many positives to take from his performance.
For someone still so young, his ability and potential are incredibly exciting. With another year of development, experience and maturity, I genuinely can’t wait to see what the future holds for him.
This is only the beginning for Max. 🔥
