๐Ÿš—๐Ÿงฝ WORKING AT THE CAR WASH! ๐Ÿงฝ๐Ÿš—

Today we turned our outdoor play area into a busy little car wash! ๐Ÿš™๐Ÿซง The children had so much fun using spray bottles, sponges, soapy water and cloths to give the cars a lovely clean. ๐Ÿ’ฆโœจ
The spray bottles were a big hit, helping to develop those little hand muscles and fine motor skills as the children squeezed, sprayed and scrubbed away.

There was lots of imaginative play too, as the children imitated me singing โ€œWorking at the Car Washโ€ while they got busy cleaning! ๐ŸŽถ๐Ÿ˜„ It was so lovely hearing them join in and copy the actions and words.

A fantastic activity for developing fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, communication, language, confidence, teamwork and imaginative play โ€” all while having lots of fun together!

I am absolutely delighted to share my latest Ofsted report and celebrate this wonderful achievement! ๐ŸŒŸ

A huge thank you to all of the amazing children, families, and supporters who make my setting such a happy, nurturing, and inspiring place to learn and grow every day. โค๏ธ

The report highlights the caring environment I provide, the strong relationships built with children and families, and my commitment to helping every child thrive and reach their full potential.

I am incredibly proud of all the children, who were absolutely amazing on the day and truly shined during the inspection. Their confidence, kindness, enthusiasm, and love of learning made the day so special and reflected everything we work hard to achieve together every day. ๐Ÿฅฐ

I am so proud of what has been achieved together and look forward to continuing to provide the very best care and learning opportunities for all the children in my setting.

Thank you for your continued trust and support!

I will be sending out the full report to my current parents this evening โ˜บ๏ธ

๐Ÿ›๐Ÿž๐Ÿชฒ Minibeasts ๐Ÿชฒ๐Ÿž๐Ÿ›

Over the last few weeks we have been very busy exploring our minibeasts topic.

We have painted and created our own ladybirds and bumble bees.

Lots of sensory play with our bugs hiding inside such as spaghetti, soil, coloured misty water and sand.

We have also found a love for puzzles and the children have been spending lots of time concentrating on putting the peices together and even then matching the puzzles to the minibeasts.

Weve been practising our fine motor skills with, tweezers, scoops and treading games.

We have practised moving like different minibeasts, dancing to minibeasts songs.

What a lovely couple of weeks here at Bridie's Childminding.

๐Ÿ›๐Ÿž๐Ÿชฒ Minibeasts ๐Ÿชฒ๐Ÿž๐Ÿ›

The last few weeks we have been focusing on minibeasts and last week we decided to go on a bug hunt at Burbage Common.

The children loved using the magifying glasses to search the woods, finding small holes in tree trunks, looking under leaves and rocks and of course collecting sticks along the way!

Our top 10 photos from this week โ˜บ๏ธ

This week we have enjoyed:
๐ŸŒธ Sharing our family photos, we enjoy naming family members, talking about them and showing our friends the people that are special to us.
๐ŸŒธ A windy trip to the park, roleplaying in the car, using our gross motor skills to climb and turn taking too.
๐ŸŒธ Lots of dancing and singing as usual, I introduced some ribbon wands this week that have been a massive hit.
๐ŸŒธ Cars is a special interest for some of the children at the minute, we have used this to incorporate other skills, such as fine motor skills when putting the track together.
๐ŸŒธ Climbing on the triangle and sliding down the slide, the children have been encouraging and praising each other when using this.
๐ŸŒธ Different sensory play with artic animals, exploring different textures and lots of talking about the different animals and where they live.
๐ŸŒธ A trip to the library with our friends from Charlie-anas Childcare, choosing new books and listening to new stories.
๐ŸŒธ Building with the wooden blocks, sharing these blocks, helping our friends and knocking towers down.

Just a small snippet of another fun filled busy week here at Bridieโ€™s Childminding โ˜บ๏ธ

๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ What a term!! ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ

What an incredible first term back, the children have all settled in beautifully. On looking back at these photos I have realised how much weโ€™ve managed to squeeze in since April.

Trips out to parks, garden centres, soft play, meeting up with friends, lots of messy play and best of all lots of singing and noise with musical instruments or anything that we can make a noise out of!

We have been working on lots of turn taking, sharing, standing and taking first steps, single words and simple sentences, colours, number, fine motor skills, transitions to just name a few of the next steps our little ones have been working towards this term.

Throughout each day I carefully plan activities and the toys I have out accessible for the children, to ensure we are meeting their next steps and all areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) with particular attention paid to the 3 prime areas:
โ˜€๏ธ Physical Development
โ˜€๏ธ Personal, Social and Emotional Development
โ˜€๏ธ Communication and Language

I look forward to seeing all of my little ones for lots more fun and learning through play after my holiday and in the Autumn term ๐Ÿฅฐ

๐ŸคŒ๐Ÿ–๏ธ๐ŸซฐFine Motor Skills ๐Ÿซฐ๐Ÿ–๏ธ๐ŸคŒ

This week we have focused on our fine motor skills to work towards some of our little ones next steps.

Simple things like encouraging them to pick things up between their finger and thumb or using tweezers and scoops to pick things up enhances their fine motor skills in preparation for mark making and other things like using cutlery.

We practice these during activities and through play without our little ones realising they are practising important skills. Itโ€™s all about rolemodelling and showing them how to use tools in a fun and exciting way.

These activities also promote good concentration and increase their attention spans, they use trial and error to carefully pick things up or post things into holes.
