A little about me:
I love talking about books, and I love that I can have a career in talking about books. I'm passionate about making education accessible to anyone who wishes to pursue it.
I am a mature post - graduate student who did not attend university at age 18 due to health reasons. I worked in physical labour for a while, and then found myself working in care at a residential school for autists.
I applied at 23 years old to study a fast track A Level in English Literature at Cardiff and Vale College, where I achieved an A grade. I then applied to universities across South Wales to study English Literature and received 5 unconditional offers.
I currently attend Cardiff University. Having completed my Bachelors degree in 2022, I am now pursuing a masters degree in English Literature.
I am grateful that I live in a country that has supported and encouraged my ambition to learn. I hope that one day, everyone can have the opportunities that I have had in order to reach their personal goals. I can offer encouragement, compassionate support and motivation to learn.
I am a laid back person, we go at the pace of the student. I am flexible and can either create lesson plans or focus on a subject of the students choosing. I am interested in literature so I hope that my content will not be dry or boring.
The first lesson will be to address educational goals, discuss a lesson plan, and create a schedule. If a syllabus is necessary, we will discuss that in the first session.
I am autistic and I have experience working in a school environment with autistic children and teens. I'm passionate about making learning accessible, and I am flexible to work around the needs of the individual. I endorse anybody accessing education as a human right, and I would love to help adults who may be considering education but lack the confidence to take the first step.
