Hola amigos y amigas. On Thursday 31st January at 6.30, our Mexican friend Alets will be coming along to our class. As ever, we will welcome him with nibbles and refreshments which we will all enjoy!

A chance to have a little Spanish conversation - maybe we could ask him how the wall is doing?

All our usual and occasional friends are welcome.

Hola amigos y amigas

El año 2019 termina con dos clases en el mes de diciembre. La primera es una clase de español (jueves, el 6 de diciembre) y la semana siguiente, una fiesta de fin del año (el 13 de diciembre), donde todos llevan algo para comer o para beber.

Si quieres beber alcohol, ¡no vengas en coche!

Las clases recomienzan jueves, el 10 de enero, 2019.

Se cancela la clase de hoy (jueves, el 15 de noviembre) por enfermedad, se piden disculpas, nos vemos la semana que viene.

Noche de fiesta 25/10/18 - our Spanish groups had a great evening with all sorts of tasty nibbles and refreshing refreshments! Many thanks to all who prepared food and drink, and helped and ferried the partygoers safely home!

¡Atentos! ¡Atentas!

Our Spanish groups have changed quite a lot over the past few months with lots of new arrivals and some untimely departures. So it's time to start posting regularly once more.

First item of news - una fiesta! We will have a small celebration at the ARC on Thursday, October 25th from 6.30 until we are asked politely to leave at 8.45. All our students, old and new, are invited to bring a little something towards the feast. There will be music and fun and possibly a bit of Spanish spoken, especially when the alcohol kicks in!

Tonight the class enjoyed a visit from our Mexican buddy Alets, learned a fair bit about the Mexican Day of the Dead, coloured sugar-skull death masks (beautifully, Zack and Milly), ate and drank and spoke a little Spanish, played Mexican Lotería, welcomed a new member, and had, all in all, a fine old evening.

Another social evening will be organised for June!

Desafortunadamente, nuestro amigo mexicano Alets no viene a la clase de jueves, el 8 de marzo. Clase normal con el tema de los Juegos Olímpicos de invierno.

Unfortunately, our Mexican friend Alets can't manage along to this Thursday's class (March 8th). We'll have a normal class on the subject of the Winter Olympics.

¡Atentos! ¡Atentas! Nuestro amigo mexicano Alets viene a la clase jueves el 8 de marzo. ¿De qué vamos a charlar? ¿De tequila, de Trump o de turismo? ¡A ver!

On March 8th we will welcome our Mexican buddy Alets to our class and bring along a few interesting nibbles. There may well be tequila! Do not drink tequila and drive!

La Noche de tapas, jueves el 26 de octubre... ¡que noche tan buena!

What a great evening we had at our tapas night!
It was good to have our new members along, and didn't they do themselves proud, not only with the comida y bebidas, but also with a bit of español.
Our guests were Mirian, our popular and charming 'gallega' and her mother of the same name, all the way from Galicia on a short visit to Scotland, and eager to see her friends again.
Plenty of Spanish was spoken over the evening, with everyone enjoying the chance to speak and listen in a busy social setting - not as easy as a quiet classroom but a lot more fun!
And we will repeat the exercise when our Mexican friend Alets is our guest at the next noche de tapas on November 9th!
All things Spanish, Mexican, Scottish and others will be welcomed!

Our classes are growing...

We welcome a whole new group of beginners to our Spanish classes! Nina will be busy in the coming weeks.
