Self defence, street safety & violence prevention training (in-person classes & online courses)

03/06/2026

And this is why we do what we do.
There is no justice for victims of r**e.

The UK’s final conviction rate is around 1%.

Only 15% of r**e cases are ever reported.

There are so many perpetrators going free.

And so many victim survivors left to deal with the consequences.

So sad for these girls and their families who were so brave in speaking out.

Sending our support to everyone who is affected by this 💜

If you need help we have a list of sources of support on our website, please don’t suffer on your own:

Three teenage boys avoided jail after being convicted over the r**e of two girls in Hampshire

21/05/2026

Many parents come to us because their child is about to take a big step - travelling alone, moving to university, living independently, or simply becoming more confident out in the world.

And this review sums up exactly what our training is about.

It's not about scaring young people or teaching them to be ninjas.

But helping them feel more aware, more prepared and more switched on.

Self defence isn’t just about physical techniques. It’s about awareness, prevention, mindset and confidence - skills that stay with you long after the training ends.

Thank you so much to Lee for taking the time to share this review.

If your teenager or young adult is preparing for more independence, we offer both in-person and online personal safety and self defence training to help them feel safer and more confident in everyday life.

Sometimes people think self defence training is just about physical techniques.

But often, it’s the awareness, prevention, mindset, and real-world decision-making that people remember most.

Really grateful for this feedback following Dene’s recent sessions with Sonnedix as part of their Safety Week.

Thank you Dean Hallissey for your kind words and support.

Something I wasn’t aware of.
Good to know and share with others if ever needed.
Stay safe & look out for each other.

Did you know you can make a silent emergency call by dialling 55 after you’ve called 999?

If you are in danger or unable to speak, press 55 after calling 999 and you will be transferred to the police. They will help you without you needing to talk.

Great couple of days for Dene at Coleg Penybont - Bridgend College this week.

It’s our second time back at the college 🙏

Yesterday we delivered two sessions one for women and one for men - and today was an open drop-in Q&A where people could come along and ask their own personal safety questions.

These sessions are always interesting, as people bring real-life situations, concerns, and experiences into the room.

A huge thank you to Evan Daley for championing this and making it happen.

Diolch yn fawr iawn 🙏

Great to be with the team at Sonnedix yesterday as part of their Safety Week.

We delivered a women’s personal safety session in the morning, followed by an open session in the afternoon.

Two different groups.
Different conversations.
But the same focus.

Helping people feel more aware, more confident, and better equipped in everyday situations.

What stood out, as always, is how relevant this is.

Not just at work - but commuting, travelling, being out and about.

Thank you to everyone who took part, and to Sonnedix for making personal safety part of the conversation.

Most people think self defence is just about fighting.

It’s not.

Yes - there is a physical side.

But in real life, most situations are decided before that.

The small moments:
• something feels off
• someone gets too close
• you tell yourself you're just 'being silly'

That’s where people get caught out.

We’ve put together 50 simple, real-world safety tips to help you:
• stay aware
• avoid risk
• trust your instincts
• make better decisions in everyday situations

It’s usually the small things people miss.

Man jailed after 'peacemaker' killed in Huthwaite beer garden attack 24/04/2026

So sad when good people are hurt trying to do the right thing 😔

A 34-year-old man, Harley Fox, died following an incident in a pub beer garden where a number of people were trying to intervene and calm a fight.

He was punched, hit his head, and tragically died two days later. The man responsible has now been jailed.

He did nothing wrong. He was trying to help.

It’s a reminder that situations like this can escalate very quickly, even when people step in with the best intentions.

Take care when intervening.

Thinking of his family and everyone affected by this.

Man jailed after 'peacemaker' killed in Huthwaite beer garden attack Harley Fox "did absolutely nothing wrong" before he was killed, a court hears.

A lot of people have experienced this.

Something doesn’t feel right. A comment, a look, a situation.

You react.

And you’re told you’re “too sensitive.”

It makes you pause. You start to question yourself. Wonder if you’ve overreacted.

But often, that’s the point.

Labelling someone as “too sensitive” can shift the focus away from the behaviour and onto you. It can be a subtle way of manipulating you into doubting what you felt.

And that matters in personal safety.

Because hesitation often comes from that doubt. Not wanting to be awkward. Not wanting to get it wrong. Trying to stay polite.

You can be calm. You can be reasonable. And still take a step back, create distance, set a boundary, or leave a situation.

You don’t need permission to trust what you felt.

And if this resonates, it’s worth sharing.
