A simple outdoor learning idea: a Colour Matching Water Wall for our garden areas.

Children can pour water into coloured funnels and follow the tubes to see where it travels, supporting colour recognition, problem-solving, fine motor skills, coordination and cooperative play. It also encourages curiosity, prediction, communication and sensory exploration.

The activity could be created using low-cost or recycled materials, making it sustainable and budget-friendly. A great addition to our outdoor provision, especially in warmer months, while supporting EYFS learning through play.

Planting trees is a wonderful way to care for our environment and perfectly connects with our theme of the month — New Beginnings🌱

The children loved getting outdoors, working together and doing their part to help make the planet a better place. A fantastic hands-on experience that teaches responsibility, teamwork and the importance of looking after our world for the future💚

We love when children jump in and get involved in setting up. At Mara, we try to incorporate their interests into learning and there’s no better way than including them in the process. Using some of our leftover petals and coloured sand from Valentine’s Day, alongside play dough and natural resources. We worked together to bring our Elderberries fairy garden to life 🧚🩷
