Children love using dough, and there's nothing better for developing fine and gross motor skills for fluent and controlled handwriting. This pupil made a flower by squashing, pinching and rolling dough. Even just getting it out the tubs was a finger workout!

We all love Beamish! Visiting places like this isn't just a fun trip. So much 'learning by stealth' is done on a day out. New vocabulary, historical enquiry, questioning, problem solving, map reading, literacy and oracy skills- all being developed with them even knowing!
