🕷️🌿 A little bit of forest magic…

Today, our children got creative with clay, lots of interesting things where created but one little spider got a staring role🕷️

A magical moment happened when another child picked up the spider and began moving it up and down the tree, singing “Incy Wincy Spider, climbing up a tree…” 🎶🌳

A simple moment of imagination, creativity, music and child-led play — all sparked by something the children had created.

This is what we love about Forest School… there is no script. Children take an idea and turn it into their own story. 💚

Make it. Sing it. Imagine it. 🌿✨

🌿✨ Poetry Paths & Picnics ✨🌿

Last night, Clandeboye Nature Rangers had the pleasure of hosting Poetry Paths & Picnics as part of Aspects 2026.

Around 25 poets and artists gathered in the tranquillity of the forest, where poets Amy Louise Wyatt and Denisa Hasieberova led an evening of engaging activities designed to spark conversation, curiosity and creativity. 🌲📝

As the evening drew to a close, everyone gathered around the campfire to enjoy delicious stews and toasted s’mores, while the gentle sound of a guitar filled the woodland air. 🔥🎶

A beautiful evening of words, creativity, connection and community — made even more magical by the forest setting and the glow of the Harvest Moon overhead. 🌕🌳

🐄🌳 Our Mini Moo Adventure! 🌳🐄

Today our pre-schoolers went on a wonderful learning adventure around the Clandeboye Estate! 🍃

As we enjoy Clandeboye yoghurt every day for snack, we began by thinking about where our yoghurt comes from. We talked about cows, milk and how milk is transformed into the yoghurt we enjoy. 🥛🐄

Our curiosity led us on a journey to visit the farm, see the yoghurt factory and meet some friendly cows. Along the way, the children were encouraged to observe, ask questions, share their ideas and make connections between the food on their plates and where it comes from.

We explored concepts such as animals, farming, food production and the natural world, developing our understanding through real-life experiences. 🌱🔎

And, of course, no adventure would be complete without stopping for snack! We sat together underneath a beautiful old oak tree, enjoying our yoghurt while reflecting on everything we had discovered. 🌳🧺

What a fantastic day of hands-on learning, curiosity, conversation and discovery — proving that some of the best learning happens when we step outside the classroom and explore the world around us! 💚 Northern Ireland Forest School Association Clandeboye Estate Yoghurt Clandeboye Courtyard

🍎🌳 Snack time… but not as you know it! 🌳🍎

At our Forest School Pre-School, every snack and lunchtime is a little outdoor adventure. Children might gather beneath the parachute, sit beside the campfire or enjoy their food among the trees, listening to birdsong and watching the seasons change. 🔥🍂

We love to pick apples straight from the orchard, And Clandeboye yoghurt is made right on site, and always a firm favourite. 🍎🥛

The children take turns setting the table, pouring, serving and tidying up. These simple moments help them grow in confidence, independence and responsibility, while giving them time to chat, giggle and share stories with their friends.

🌿 This is what makes Forest School Pre-School so special. The forest is our classroom, and even snack time becomes an opportunity to explore, connect, learn and discover.

Come and see how your child can learn, grow and thrive in the great outdoors at our open day
Saturday 24th October.
