The school was formed as part of a merger between the Bangor High for Girls school and Gransha High for Boys school. The name for the newly formed school was Bangor Academy and Sixth Form College.

Golf Update
We’ve just seen the team photo for the Clandeboye Men’s Junior team features not one but two Bangor Academy pupils. All the best to both Max (Yr 14) and to Elliott (Yr 12) who are playing in the all-Ireland Championships in September.

Year 12 golfer, Elliott, was celebrating his win with Clandeboye Men's Junior Team at the Golf Ireland Ulster South Finals.

Summer trampoline success.
Faith (Yr 13) and Bobbi (Yr 11) have made their mark in UK rankings following two trampoline competitions on consecutive weekends.
In June, they travelled to Cardiff to compete in the International League event.
