Yesterday, our whole school community came together to give a heartfelt clapping guard of honour as we bid a tearful farewell to two truly remarkable members of our school family.

After an incredible 27 years of dedicated service, Mrs Brown, and an amazing 43 years of unwavering commitment, Mrs Maguire, are beginning their well-earned retirement.

Between them, they have touched the lives of countless children, families and colleagues, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, dedication and care that will never be forgotten. Their impact on our school community has been immeasurable, and they will be greatly missed by everyone.

Thank you, Mrs Brown and Mrs Maguire, for your years of service, your compassion, and the difference you have made to so many lives. We wish you both every happiness, good health and many wonderful adventures in this exciting new chapter.

Congratulations on your retirementβ€”you have both truly earned it! β€οΈπŸ‘πŸŽ‰

Adopt a Spot Project πŸŒΈπŸƒ

This term, we launched our Adopt a Spot project which has been a fantastic opportunity for every class to work together to transform neglected and overgrown areas of our school courtyard into welcoming, usable and inclusive spaces. Through gardening, our children have been developing valuable life skills, teamwork and a sense of pride in their school community. 🌻

A huge thank you to New Leaf Compost NI for their generous donation of soil, plants and herbs, which has helped bring our project to life. We can’t wait to see these spaces continue to flourish next year! πŸͺ΄

Today was a very special and emotional day as we came together to say goodbye and thank you to three wonderful members of our school family.

First, to our Vice Principal Mrs Maguire. After an incredible 43 years of teaching and caring for generations of children, you are beginning a well-earned new chapter. Your kindness, dedication, wisdom, and encouragement have helped shape this school into the special place it is today. Thousands of children have been lucky enough to learn from you, and your influence will continue to be felt for many years to come.

To our amazing dinner lady Mrs Mayne, who has lovingly prepared school meals for 35 years, thank you. Mrs Mayne started as a cleaner in our school in 1991 and was soon after asked to help out in the kitchen and has never left as she loves it so much! You have done so much more than serve lunches. Your care and dedication have nourished not just our bodies, but our hearts too.

And finally, to our Principal Mrs Brown. Although illness means you cannot be with us today, we want you to know how deeply grateful we are for your 27 years of leadership, compassion, and commitment. You have guided this school with strength, kindness, and a genuine love for every child and member of staff. We send you our very best wishes for your health and happiness as you begin this next chapter.

To each of you, thank you for your years of service, your unwavering dedication, and the difference you have made in so many lives. Schools are built on people like youβ€”people who give their time, their hearts, and their care every single day.

On behalf of all the pupils, staff, parents, governors, and everyone whose lives you have touched, we wish you happiness, good health, and many wonderful adventures in your retirement.

You may be leaving your roles, but you will always remain a cherished part of our school’s story.
