An exciting day for Mr. Sweatman & Mrs. Tartt who went to The House of Commons to collect our ‘Excellence Award’. They were joined by the incredible Norfolk Fishing for Schools team and Jessica Morden MP, who hosted the event.

Our Fishing for Schools programme engages our students in outdoor learning through fishing, combining practical skills with life lessons & environmental education.

Eight of our year 10 students are currently immersed in their intermediate award & we will be beginning the the cast award for some of our new year 7s in 2026 😍

It was brilliant to hear a report on BBC Radio 4's The World Tonight programme last night about SEND provision at Aylsham High School.

The eight minute piece saw the BBC visit the school after it was mentioned by Helen Hayes MP, the Chair of the Education Select Committee. Ms Hayes told the programme how impressed she and her fellow MPs had been by the school's inclusive approach.

In the report the BBC visit the school's nurture centre for SEND lessons and interview the headteacher, deputy headteacher, SENDCO, two Year 11 pupils and a mum about their experiences.

This mum put the success of Aylsham High down to the school listening to children, speaking to children, and focusing on integration rather than segregating and labelling. She said it was amazing and the school's approach had made the future look so much brighter for her children.
