Congratulations to the auntie I chose! Sherrilyn has played a big role in my life from being my guide Leader to supporting me through life’s up and downs and listening to my mum despair of me as I grew up kicking and screaming ! Thank you for everything! I can’t think of a better person to lead Aylesbury and make it a better place! 🎈🎊🎉

We’re delighted to officially welcome Councillor Sherrilyn Bateman as Aylesbury’s Mayor of Aylesbury for 2026/27, alongside Deputy Mayor Councillor Tuffail Hussain, following the inauguration ceremony held on Friday 29 May.

The evening also celebrated community excellence, with Mr Jason Savage receiving the Freda Roberts Community Award for his outstanding dedication to local volunteering and fundraising.

A special thank you to outgoing Mayor Cllr Nidhi Mehta, who presented an incredible £15,078.60 to Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity following a successful year of fundraising.

Mayor Bateman has chosen Aylesbury Homeless Action Group (AHAG) as her Charity of the Year, supporting vital work to tackle homelessness in our community.
