Books over Breakfast for World Book Day 2026. What a wonderful start to the day - we absolutely loved seeing all of the amazing costumes and it was so lovely to see so many of our parents & carers in to share stories with the children. Thank you so much for joining us if you were able to.

Is it a tree? Is it Joe Wicks? No - it's our very own Mr Dineen as Stick Man showing us all how to warm up and be ready to learn on World Book Day. Every child joined in with this today and it was just one of the many activities happening in school as we took part in the Brill Book Expedition around the world in stories.
Proper PE Warm up #2 Stickman In this second warm edition, ideal for brain breaks and physical activity at home, we explore Stickman. A world book day/communications week special! Enjoy!!

Year 5 thoroughly enjoyed their visit from Aylesbury Fire Station yesterday - a really useful presentation about the importance of fire safety was followed by the opportunity to look around the fire engine and learn all about the different things it does. Essie in Year 5 said, it was super helpful to understand what to do in different situations and Sophia said the whole thing was amazing and she really enjoyed getting to see the fire engine up close. We are very grateful to the Aylesbury Fire Team for visiting us.

As part of our Courageous Advocacy focus, we’re putting our values into action. 🧡
Year 3 have been hosting a Community Coat Drive to support those who might need a little extra warmth this winter.
Showing courage isn’t always loud—sometimes it’s as simple as stepping up for someone else.
Bring a new or gently used coat and help us spread warmth, dignity, and hope. The coats are being collected tomorrow from school by the Chairman of the Thame Rotary Club.
Together, we advocate with our hearts. 🧥✨

Our Year 5 and 6 football teams took part in the ESFA Football Cup on Saturday in Aylesbury and they absolutely did us proud. We asked Sam and Harry in Year 6 to sum up the tournament in a match report:
It was a good tournament for Brill, we think everyone played their games exceptionally well throughout the whole tournament. We got through through to the semi-finals but sadly lost 1-0 in extra time. This was our best tournament yet for Brill School.
Well done to all of our players, you were amazing!

Please see our whole school blog on our website, where Mrs White explains in further detail what this looks like at Brill.
