Our Explorers Yurt is starting to come to life! 🌿✨

We’re so excited to share that we have now furnished the yurt for our youngest children at Little Ferns Forest School.

Designed with curiosity, creativity and comfort in mind, the space includes:
📚 A cosy book area for stories and quiet moments
🎨 A creative area to inspire imagination and self-expression
🪵 A loose parts area where children can explore, investigate and create through open-ended play

Every element has been carefully considered to support our youngest explorers as they learn, discover and grow in a nurturing woodland environment.

We can’t wait to welcome our little adventurers into this beautiful space and watch it become filled with laughter, learning and wonder. 🍃💚

Nursery spaces will be offered on a first come first serve basis - so enquire now for a place 🎉 https://muddynurseries.eylog.co.uk/eyMan/index.php/enquiries/registerEnquiry?token=eyJ0eXAiOiJKV1QiLCJhbGciOiJIUzI1NiJ9.eyJjb21wYW55X2lkIjoiMSJ9.WoKz6tTYnXDUD5jj30pVCFrX4hKzMwyNzDlHGlj5alM

Our beautiful yurts provide warm, comfortable indoor spaces that complement our outdoor learning environment. Designed to keep children connected to nature while offering a safe and welcoming retreat, the yurts are used throughout the day for a variety of activities. 🛖

Inside, children enjoy educational experiences including story sessions, small group learning, and quiet reflection. The yurts also provide a cosy space for rest and nap times, ensuring children can relax and recharge when needed.

On colder, wetter, or more challenging weather days, the yurts offer shelter and comfort, allowing learning and exploration to continue whatever the forecast. Combining the benefits of outdoor education with the security of an indoor space, our yurts help create a unique and nurturing environment for every child. 🍃

Will children still receive hot food at Little Ferns Forest School? 🌿

Absolutely! 🍽️

All hot meals will continue to be freshly prepared by our chef at Little Ferns Wendover and transported to the Forest School site in insulated food containers, designed to keep food at the correct temperature during transit.

This means children attending Little Ferns Forest School will still enjoy the same nutritious, chef-prepared hot lunches that our families know and love.

FAQs 💡

We recently invited families to submit questions about Little Ferns Forest School, and one of the most common topics was security and safeguarding.

The safety of our children is always our highest priority. Our forest school site is fully enclosed with secure perimeter fencing, providing a safe and dedicated learning environment. Access to the site is controlled through a set of locked double gates, followed by a second secure gate before entering the nursery grounds.

Alongside our robust physical security measures, our experienced team follows strict safeguarding procedures to ensure every child is safe, supported, and able to explore with confidence.

We believe children thrive when they can enjoy the freedom of outdoor learning within a carefully planned and secure environment.

Exciting progress at Forest School! 🌿✨

All three yurts are now up and looking fantastic, creating welcoming spaces for learning, exploring, and connecting with nature.

We’ve also installed new Perspex viewing windows in the fence, allowing children to safely watch the goats from the Goat Centre and enjoy even more opportunities to observe and learn about our animals.

And there’s more! Our new den-making frame is now in place, ready for children to get creative, work together, and build their own woodland hideaways.

We can’t wait to see these new additions being enjoyed as part of our outdoor learning adventures! 🌳🛖🐐
