🍅 From 🪴 to 🍽️ 🍅

The children loved picking our tomatoes they had nurtured in our garden. What better way to enjoy them than making tomato and mozzarella tarts!

Mark making in sand, water play 💦 and growing vegetables 🥕- all while safely enjoying this beautiful sunshine ☀️

The sun ☀️ has got his hat on and so do we! 🧢

We have had a wonderful start to our week!

On Tuesday we welcomed mummies, carers & nannies to make cards for father's day/someone we love (but we don't want to spoil any surprises so no sneak peak photos!) 🤫

We have been reading and learning about taking care of our plants and checking in on our fruit and veg in our grow garden. We have also been looking at colours and numbers as well as setting up our Footsteps hair salon! 💇

We have been really interested in talking about the beach 🏖️ We were led by the children's interests and provided playdough to create their own sea beds. 🌊

Life’s a beach 🏖️ at Footsteps! Despite the rain ☔️ we have found some sunny spells to explore sand, shells and sea creatures!

It’s a big step 👣 starting Big School so we explored lots of elements of the change to come in our small world play today. As well as lots of fun we also facilitated:

Pet visit! 🐌

We had some special visitors on this ! The children were very brave holding or stroking the snails! Thank you to James for bringing them in to show us.

We also talked about what pets we have and learnt the Makaton sign for each. ✋🏻 ✋🏻

As we approach half way through May we have certainly been reaping the benefits of our Outside play ethos, with some brighter and warmer weather making our outdoor spaces, mud kitchens, forest school areas, allotments, football pitches and nature walks across our settings come alive.
