💚 Celebrating Grandparents Day! 💚

Today we celebrated the special bond between children and their grandparents, creating precious moments together through laughter, stories, play and shared experiences. 👵👴🌿

Days like this are about so much more than spending time together. They help children develop a strong sense of belonging and connection, while giving grandparents the opportunity to share their stories, knowledge, traditions and experiences with the next generation.

Bringing generations together also helps to strengthen our community, creating meaningful relationships and reminding children that they are surrounded by a wider network of people who care for and support them.

At Little Ferns, we believe that community is at the heart of childhood. 💚

🌳✨ Climbing, Exploring & Growing! ✨

There’s something special about climbing a tree — feeling the bark beneath little hands, finding the next foothold and reaching a little higher. 🌿

For our children, tree climbing is so much more than physical play. It helps develop strength, balance, coordination and spatial awareness, while encouraging children to assess risks, make decisions and build confidence in their own abilities.

Being outdoors and connecting with nature also gives children opportunities to challenge themselves, persevere, problem-solve and develop independence. Every climb brings a sense of achievement — “I did it!” 🌱💚

At Little Ferns, our children have the opportunity to spend time outdoors, discovering nature, sharing experiences and learning alongside one another. Whether they’re collecting treasures, spotting wildlife, splashing in puddles or simply enjoying the space around them, these moments create wonderful opportunities to connect, communicate and build friendships. 🐞🌳

Being in nature supports children’s wellbeing, confidence and independence, while shared outdoor experiences help develop turn-taking, cooperation, communication, problem-solving and empathy.

🧘‍♀️🌿 Yoga in Nature with Our Discoverers! 🌿🧘‍♂️

Our Discoverers enjoyed a peaceful yoga session outdoors at our local field, taking the opportunity to stretch, move and connect with nature. 🌳☀️

Yoga supports balance, coordination, strength and body awareness, while also helping young children develop calmness, concentration and emotional regulation.

Being outdoors adds another layer of learning, giving children space to breathe, explore and enjoy movement in a natural environment.

A wonderful way to support healthy bodies, happy minds and confident little learners! 💚

We’ve been having a little clear-out in our library at Little Ferns Wendover and have lots of lovely children’s books that we no longer need. 💚

The books have been used and loved, so they aren’t perfect, but they are all in okay condition and still have plenty of stories left to tell! 📖✨

Rather than letting them go to waste, we’d love to give them a new home. 🏡

If you’re a parent, childminder, nursery, school or just love a good children’s book, please feel free to get in touch if you’d like some. 😊
