👕♻️ CLOTHING COLLECTION – THE LITTLE RECYCLERS ♻️👕

We’re excited to be holding a *The Little Recyclers clothing collection* on *Tuesday 6th October* at *Stoke Mandeville Combined School* to raise money for our PTA 'The Friends of SMCS'! 🧡

It’s a great opportunity to clear out your wardrobes while helping raise funds for the school and giving unwanted items a new lease of life.

✅ What CAN be donated?

Please donate clean, reusable items such as:
👚 Adult & children’s clothing
👖 Jeans & trousers
🧥 Coats & jackets
👗 Dresses & skirts
👕 T-shirts & jumpers
👟 Shoes & trainers (paired together)
👜 Handbags & accessories
🛏️ Bed linen, towels & other household textiles

Please make sure all items are *clean, dry and in good, reusable condition*. Donations should be placed in *secure bags* on the Village Green by 9am on Tuesday.

🚫 Ripped or heavily stained clothing
🚫 Duvets & pillows
🚫 Carpets & rugs
🚫 Broken or single shoes

🌟A Fantastic Achievement 🌟

We are delighted to share that, with your continued support, we have achieved an Outstanding accreditation for this year’s School Travel Plan. We are 1 of only 7 schools from the Buckinghamshire area to achieve this!!

This achievement has only been possible because of your ongoing help and involvement — whether it was Park Away Days, Bike to School Week, Road Safety Week, Walk to School Week, Bikeability, or the many other activities we've had throughout the year. Your support and help has made this achievement possible and we cannot thank you enough.

We now have the challenge of maintaining our Outstanding status. We can achieve this, but only with your continued support and active involvement.

Don't forget to name all school uniform, hats, lunchboxes and water bottles! We want to try and keep our Lost Property levels as low as possible this year and naming uniform makes the task of returning anything lost to its rightful owner a much easier process.

If you need a bit of help then as a reminder we have partnered with Stamptastic and Stikins who give us commission for every parent who orders through their website!

On Saturday 13th June The Friends of SMCS will be holding their annual Summer Fayre from 12 to 3.30pm. It is FREE ENTRY and there will be lots to keep everyone entertained.

Please keep this date in the diary and keep an eye out for further information about our programme of events.

If you can spare any time at all to help with setting up, breaking down or during the Fayre itself with manning one of the stalls then please email [email protected] as soon as possible. These events cannot run without a fantastic team of volunteers made up of our parents and staff, so the more people we have to help, the more everyone will get a chance to enjoy the Fayre on the day!

This Thursday 23rd April The Friends of SMCS will be holding a Treat Sale on the playground after school. All treats will be 50p each so please don't forget to bring cash with you to afternoon collection (or if your child is attending ASC that day then please send them in with money in a sealed envelope so that they can be taken to the stall by a Playworker).

Thank you to everyone who joined in with our Park Away Day this morning. Thankfully the weather was good to us and it was a nice morning for a walk, scoot or ride to school!

We would like to encourage our school community to do this more often than one Friday a month and would invite families to try and leave their car at home at least one day a week for their school journey to and from school!

£5 per child (includes bag of sweets, all drinks plus facepaint/tattoo)

On Friday 5th December the Friends of SMCS are proud to be hosting a Christmas Fayre. There will be market stalls, tombolas, the hamper raffle, games, a performance from the Signing Choir and more!

The games will be run using a wristband system, similar to the Summer Fayre. A wristband will cost £2 and will allow the wearer to play 6 games. We do hope that lots of you will stay to join in the fun!

As well as stalls, games and more inside, we will be welcoming The Bull's Best Cellar from The Bull, Stoke Mandeville who will be in charge of providing drinks throughout the evening.

What an incredible morning it was seeing the corridors filled with all sorted of sweet treats! Thank you to everyone who sent sweets in with the children today to help their house win the Longest Sweet Trail.

The winners for 2025 were as follows:

4th Waddesdon🟡

As a reminder these treats will be used as prizes for the Friends of SMCS Christmas Fayre which is due to be held on Friday 5th December.
