Unfortunately, our plans to build the Grow Room on Easter Bank Holiday Monday 13th April 2020 have been delayed due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

However, the parts are cut & ready to go thanks to KIONDO sourcing Digwood Co CNC services.

With collective effort, building the Grow room will take half a day to day to assemble, but is only the beginning. The possibilities of what we can do with the space are endless.

From a shared herb garden, to mini coffee mornings, gatherings and growing workshops, we want this to be truly owned by the community.

This is a Grow room.

The grow room is an open-source spherical garden designed by SPACE10, A research and design lab in Copenhagen. I first came across the grow room concept a few years ago and was always keep to find an opportunity to experiment with building one.

Through months of activity, working in collaboration with The Active Wellbeing Society we’ve hosted Open Play Streets and games to bring the community together, and now have identified what we think is the best possible spot for us to build the grow room in Inner City Aston. An empty patch of grass land where people often fly tip rubbish.

In May 2019, we hosted ‘CanWe Build the Urban Farm’ , a collective effort to create a shared community growing space. The initiative inspired many and in 2020 we want to build on what we started with another CanWe Build session.
