In May I decided to end a 7 year relationship because something deep inside me told me enough. Letting go of people, relationships, attachments is tough, we are social beings and are wired for connection - actively severing a connection is hard (even if it’s no longer aligned). It’s normal to feel deep intense sensation, to feel scared, doubtful, and be full of grief for what you thought would be forever. The irony is that the only thing certain in life is death - we can think this and that but we really have no idea what’s around the corner. If your going through a loss; or break up trust that you know what will get you through. This is the things that help me navigate life transitions - leaning on our friends and family, letting yourself grieve, energy healing (reiki & sound) to support there’s system as it adjusts to losing connection, somatics - giving the body space to process and move sensation, journalling about the change.
