☀️ Fingers crossed for weather like this during our October Half Term Fun Days!

There’s something wonderful about spending time outside-exploring, playing and enjoying plenty of fresh air. Admittedly, it’s always a little easier when we don’t need wellies and waterproofs for every activity! 😊

Whatever the weather, we’ll have a fun-filled day of craft, baking, outdoor play and adventures on the farm.

♻️ From Mrs B’s Kitchen to Mrs B’s Learning Pod! 🎨

Today, we put some empty golden syrup tins to good use in our Home Ed group. They are going to be transformed into fabulous money or treasure boxes! ❤️

The sturdy cardboard tubes from rolls of kitchen foil also seemed far too useful to throw away. Who knows what they might become-magical wands, broomsticks for teddies or something completely different?

🍂 Now that October has arrived, I can finally share some of the wonderful autumnal bits and bobs I’ve been collecting!
These lovely extras could find their way into any of the three activities I regularly run-from individual tutoring and Home Ed sessions to my half-term fun days. I can’t wait to see how the children choose to use them!

This week at Mrs B’s Home Ed Bake & Create, we’ll be:
🍒 Baking delicious fruity flapjacks
🎨 Starting our very own money or treasure boxes
😊 Enjoying plenty of creativity, conversation and fun along the way!
Our sessions are kept purposefully small, with a maximum of just four children, helping everyone feel comfortable, included and supported. Parents or accompanying adults stay for the session too.
Please get in touch if you’d like to book the final space this week.

Who loves a game of I Spy? 👀

Here is the table all set up for one of my students today. During our last session, we began learning the sounds s, a, t and p, so this playful activity will help me see what has been remembered.

We can begin with a game of I Spy, then move on to sorting the objects by their initial sounds and even using the letters to build simple words.
Of course, this could all be completed on a worksheet, but practical learning allows young bodies to move, explore and stay engaged. It also gives me the freedom to adapt the activity as we go, following the child’s interests and responding to exactly what they need today.

Learning through play is still very much learning! 😊

A little snapshot of another brilliant week at Mrs B’s Learning Pod—filled with learning, creativity, growing confidence and plenty of laughter! 🌟

Every one of my wonderful students has been working hard and meeting their current targets. These might be targets suggested by school or parents, ones identified through my own assessments, or areas the children themselves have asked to revisit because they found something a little confusing at school.
Whatever the target, each session is carefully tailored to the individual child, helping them to consolidate their learning, overcome difficulties and recognise just how capable they are.

To say that I am beaming with pride for all the fantastic students I have the privilege of working with would be an understatement! ❤️
