As another school year comes to an end (or has already finished for many!), I’d like to wish all pupils, parents and teachers a fantastic summer!

But the learning doesn’t have to stop at Luke’s Private Tutoring.

I am continuing to offer 1:1 tutoring and small group sessions throughout the summer holidays, helping students to:
Catch up on topics they’ve found challenging
Prepare for the next school year
Build confidence in Maths and English
Get ahead before September

Summer is the perfect opportunity to learn without the pressure of school, allowing your child to make real progress at their own pace.

Get in touch today to find out how we can maximise your child’s education this summer and give them the best possible start for the new academic year.

Ending the session with a quick interactive quiz to reinforce learning in a fun and engaging way.

Tools like Quizalize help keep students motivated, focused, and confident, even at the end of a session.

A great way to finish strong!

I’ve recently opened up an earlier slot at 4pm, which has freed up a couple of additional spaces during the week!

Evening slots tend to fill quite quickly, so if you’ve been thinking about extra support for your child, now could be a good time to get started.

It’s come round quickly, but we’re already nearing the end of half term 😅

This is usually the point where things start to become a bit clearer. What’s going well, and what still needs a bit of work.

Whether it’s preparing for the 11+, SATs, or just building confidence and catching up, now is a great time to focus on those areas and start making real progress.

Small, consistent steps can make a big difference over time!

If you’re thinking about extra support for your child, feel free to message me.

Something new I’ve introduced for all my students…

From this month, every child I work with will receive a monthly progress report.

Not just scores, but a clear breakdown of:
✔️ What they’re doing well
✔️ What we’re working on
✔️ Where they’re heading next

I’ve found that parents often don’t get to see the progress happening week by week, so this is a really nice way to keep you fully in the loop.

It also helps the children feel proud of how far they’ve come, which is just as important!

If you’d like your child to receive structured support like this alongside their sessions, feel free to drop me a message!

One of the most common things I hear from parents is how quickly homework time can turn into a bit of a battle!

What should be a quick task somehow turns into frustration, either because their child doesn’t understand it, or they’re thinking “I don’t remember learning it like this…”

Most of the time, it’s not that they can’t do it. They’ve just got stuck on one small step, and everything after that starts to feel way harder than it actually is.

Slowing things down and focusing on that one step first can make a huge difference

Does homework ever turn into a struggle in your house?

Learning doesn’t have to mean sitting at a table with worksheets. We make the most of every space to keep sessions engaging and enjoyable. If the sun’s shining, we’ll head outside! Whether it’s working at the table or relaxing on the egg chair, your child chooses what helps them learn best.

If this sounds like the perfect tutoring environment for your child, feel free to send me a message!

A lot of children struggle with word problems, not because they can’t do the maths, but because they don’t know where to start.

One simple way to help is to get them to find the numbers in the question first, then work out what operation is needed (add, subtract, multiply or divide).

Breaking it down like this makes a big difference to their confidence 👍

What does your child find hardest in maths at the moment?

If this sounds like a struggle in your house, message to reserve one of my remaining slots!

A lot of children don’t struggle with maths because they “can’t do it”…

They struggle because they’ve missed small steps along the way.

If any of these signs feel familiar, feel free to message me for support and advice.
