ποΈπͺ£ LOCAL BUSINESSESβ¦ CAN YOU HELP US FILL OUR PLAY SPACES?! πͺ£ποΈ
Weβve got a BIG job on our handsβ¦ and we need LOTS of play sand! π
As part of our OPAL Community Interest Company project, weβre transforming spaces around school into exciting, imaginative places for our children to play, explore and get creative. π³πͺ£πͺ΅β¨
Weβre looking for a local business(es) who might be able to sponsor a donation of play sand to help us:
πββοΈβ‘οΈποΈ Fill an area previously used as a running jump space and turn it into an amazing OPAL play area!
π±π Fill the large tyres in our sensory garden to create another fun, hands-on play space.
And because these areas are BIGβ¦ we need quite a lot of sand! π
π Could your business help?
Maybe you can donate some bags, contribute towards the cost, or know a local supplier who might be able to help?
π And this one is for our school families tooβ¦
Are you a mum, dad, grandparent, relative or friend of Furley Park who works for a local business or has a connection with a company that might be able to help? π«π
You never know who might be able to point us in the right direction! π Even a tag, a share or introduction could make all the difference. ποΈβ¨
In return, weβll give your business a huge shout-out across our social media, share your business with our wonderful school community and publicly say a massive THANK YOU for helping us create something special for our children! π£π«Ά
π Every bag of sand makes a difference! π
If you can help, know someone who might be able to, or have a brilliant idea of where we could source the sand, drop us a message, tag them below or share this post! π
Letβs see if we can find our Sand Superhero! π¦ΈββοΈποΈπ¦ΈββοΈ
Thank you, as always, for supporting Furley Park PTA and helping us make a difference. ππ

π§ What does the UK's Independent Review into Mental Health Conditions tell us?
In June 2026, the Government published an update to its Independent Review into Mental Health Conditions, ADHD and Autism. The review highlights a significant rise in common mental health conditions, particularly anxiety and depression, with the biggest increases seen in children, young people and younger adults.
The review also makes it clear that rising demand is not caused by one single factor. Instead, it points to a combination of influences including:
π Social and economic pressures
π Better awareness and reduced stigma
π Improved recognition and diagnosis
π Greater willingness to seek help and support.
For schools, this reinforces the importance of:
βοΈ Early identification of needs
βοΈ Timely access to appropriate support
βοΈ Strong partnerships between education, health services and families
βοΈ A whole-school approach to promoting positive mental health.
Every child deserves to feel understood, supported and able to thrive. By working together, we can create environments where mental wellbeing is prioritised alongside learning.

Navigating the SEND Tribunal Process Together β€οΈ
Fighting for your childβs education can feel lonely and completely overwhelming. The SEND Tribunal is an independent court that settles disagreements with Local Authorities over EHC plansβbut you do not have to carry this legal weight by yourself.
Here is how a SEND Advocate stands by your side from start to finish:
1. Lodging the Appeal: We check your deadlines, listen to your worries, and draft your initial appeal forms.
2. Case Management: We track key dates, review council responses, and help you gather vital expert evidence.
3. The Working Document: We negotiate the exact wording with the council to ensure your child's true needs are protected.
4. The Hearing: We prepare your speaking points, sit with you, and ensure your voice is heard by the panel.
5. Post-Hearing: We check the final ruling and make sure the council actually delivers the support your child deserves.
Your child deserves the right support, and you deserve a team that cares. Let us take the pressure off your shoulders.
