Thomas Burns’s journey in clay pigeon shooting began at age 12 at Park Farm, inspired by a simple desire to shoot "just like dad." By 13, he was already competing across the UK in DTL and Sporting disciplines.

That early commitment quickly translated into major competitive success. At just 17, Thomas claimed both the Junior and A-Class Champion titles at the Krieghoff Masters 🏆, alongside an impressive second-place overall finish🥈. He later capped off his junior career with a Gold medal🥇 at the French Grand Prix and recently made history as the first-ever Olympic Trap representative for his home island of Jersey at the Home Internationals. 👏

When it came to choosing his next shotgun, Thomas found a perfect match in Zoli. For him, it’s all about the emotional connection to the craftsmanship—the authentic Italian passion built into the gun, combined with the welcoming, close-knit family atmosphere that Paolo and the Zoli team bring to the sport.

The Hull Pro One Challenge 2026 💥

Zoli UK have been in attendance from 5th – 9th August at Barbury Shooting School for the Hull Pro One Challenge 2026. We’ve serviced guns 🧰for existing customers, spoke to countless people about the Zoli range and discussed the incredibly enjoyable course the team at Barbury set up for over 1200 competitors to take on!

After the dust settled and the competition had finished, we’re proud to say we had a couple of podium finishes for Zoli UK shooters! 😃

Nigel Hart finished on an incredible score of 113/120 and taking home the silver medal🥈in the Veterans category! 👏

Lara Dale managed a double podium, taking the silver medal 🥈in Ladies as well as taking another silver 🥈medal A class after countback with an impressive score of 108/120! 👏

Congratulations both on fantastic results and best of luck for the remainder of the season! 👏👏

Meet Iwan Mills, a 22-year-old shooter who has been clay pigeon shooting since he was 7, and shooting DTL for 8 years. Both his grandad and his father shot all of their lives, so he was surrounded by the sport when growing up and got into it as soon as he could. Shooting has taken him to some amazing places, but so far his highlight was taking an overall podium at the European DTL Championships earlier this year. 🏆👏

“The Zoli guns are so well balanced and weighted, that Zoli was my clear first choice gun for shooting DTL. As a junior, the adjustability of the Zoli was key to constantly performing the best I could. Being able to adjust the comb as I grew, or being able to adjust the angle of the high rib to ensure the gun was shooting exactly where I wanted it to, these things ensured the gun always fit me and allowed me to enhance my shooting.⚙️

Going forward, as I conclude my first year in the senior category, my goal is to win as many major championships as possible in DTL. The pinnacle of our sport is to be world champion so that has to be my main goal in Ireland in 2028."
