LAY BOX : Super important for your adult females to have a lay box set up in their Viv. Regardless if they are being bred or on their own.
Keep the substrate dry/damp to the touch but not wet and check everyday. Give them a little depth to be able to dig around but at the end of the day be prepared to keep an eye out everywhere for eggs as some dragons choose to rebel against the lay box and lay eggs in random places.
Lots of different substrate and ways to go about things. We use Arcadia EarthMix as we always have good results. It's perfect, safe, quick and not expensive. Can add some perlite too if you wish. We pay for it ourselves and are not sponsored in any way just sharing what works for us.
Frilli are super sneaky when putting down a clutch. They will dig a hole. Lay their eggs inside then cover it back up and make it look like nothing happened. You won't realise the eggs are there. The soil will even be patted down again they are expert at hiding them! xD
We double check the females everyday when heavily gravid by lightly brushing them on the side of the belly with my finger to feel for the eggs and I can immediately tell if they have hidden their eggs somewhere or not. You learn to read them and we don't feel it's too intrusive as they are so calm with us anyway. Just be respectful and careful as they are very fragile at this stage.
Be ready with an egg box setup and incubator too as time will be of the essence once eggs hit the ground.
